Any other libcommers gonna be there? Will be down with workers' beer, pullin pints.

Any reccomendations on the arguably not particularly exciting lineup?

i'm going.

not too incredible i agree, but here's my pick all the same:

thursday

seasick steve - three-string slide guitar from a genuine ex-hobo who wears dungarees a lot. fucking ace music too.

friday

amy winehouse - ding-dong!
bloc party are okay i guess.
chas n dave - proper cockney workin class fellas, me ol' china!
the cat empire - ska/salsa combo; good for dancing.
martha wainwright - very cool folk
the klaxons embarrassed - probably see some of john's mates there wink
B-J-O-R-K!!!!!!!

saturday

the killers are okay
the editors " "
guillemots
rodrigo y gabriela - ace spanish guitarists who sometimes do covers of thrash metal tunes cool
ed harcourt [family trivia mode] is my girlfriend's second cousin [/family trivia mode]
steven and damien marley, cos you've got to haven't you.

saturday

burley chassis
babyhead - proper cool bouncy ska
tinariwen - can't beat a bit of that desert blues cool
corrine bailey rae - just cos she's well sweet and cute
MICAH P HINSON - this guy is my god beardiest

the rest of the time i think i'll hang around the leftfield tent and throw stuff at monbiot and other celebrity pseudo-radicals.

i hope it rains

8 June, 2007 - 16:05

I'm there with workers' beer as well. You'll know me because I'll be the pissed up one shouting abuse at the young Greens wink

Ned's Atomic Dustbin are playing Leftfield stage 1 on Friday, which should be pretty good.

8 June, 2007 - 16:11

oh fuck i wanna do it now.

should have got my skates on.

Anarchist selling beer is the festival within the festival.

Fuck me, Glastonbury looks likes the biggest pile of shite ever.

and this is why, whatever oisleep and revol's differences, we CANNOT allow hippies to dictate post-revolutionary policy

True, although I went there once (2000) and saw Idlewild perform their best gig ever, so it wasn't all bad.

Modest Mouse
Arcade Fire
Bjork
Live Buraka Som Sisteema
Trentemoller
K'Naan
The Black Ghosts
Bonde Do Role
Chemical Brothers
The Gossip
Kissy Sellout

I take it you didn't bother reading to the end then? Last few paragraphs.

25 June, 2007 - 16:04

But for now, at the time of writing, here in the Guardian Portakabin, I'm enjoying the Glastonbury festival. Something, somewhere, has gone terribly wrong in my universe.

25 June, 2007 - 16:56

Fuck, Charlie Brooker's gone way down in my estimations. Glastonbury's for cunts. Even the hippies (I mean, the actual ones, not the trustafarians who don't like to take medicine or shave their pubes) hate it now cos of the change in atmosphere.

In fact, music festivals tend to suck anyway. I remember how underwhelmed I was with Reading when I camped there. Why don't you back to nature types take your camping and drugs to a forest or something? That said, I am going to a one day festival in New York next month, but that's definitely cos a certain left wing band who I guaruntee every poster on here under the age of 30 liked at some point are reforming for it.

25 June, 2007 - 19:18

Rock the Bells? I would fucking love to go to that.

25 June, 2007 - 20:34

I've been enjoying the Glasto weekend, cos my entire household have all gone away for the weekend leaving an oasis of calm behind them smile

You bet.

26 June, 2007 - 01:17

gogol bordello are terrible. why do the british have such terrible taste in american music?
i just looked at the whole lineup and these are the only acts i would have been remotely interested in:

toumani diabate
coldcut
hot chip :embarassed:
beirut
!!! (although i only saw them put on a good set once, the other times were crap)
bjork BUT JUST TO SEE CHRIS CORSANO FINALLY GETTING PAID

26 June, 2007 - 08:00

Thursday: P.R.O.D

26 June, 2007 - 08:08

Toumani Diabate was ace. Though somehow the guy managed to injur his leg between walking off set on the Jazz stage, and ending up on the Other stage with Bjork an hour and a half later...

I know what you're saying with Beirut, but unfortunately he was a bit rubbish.

Well if the choice is between hippy or Scrooge, I'll go with looking after my money as opposed to burning it or something.

I've always seen Alan as more of a:
