How similar/different are you in real life as compared to online??

Submitted by Lone Wolf on 20 February, 2008 - 13:46.

Following on from some musings in AP's "burning fire" thread... so far we have ascertained that me, Jack and Conor are similar online to irl but revol isn't.

So are you and and your fellow posters - those you have met? Feel free to grass people up if you wish. wink

Love

I can't think of anyone who was much different.
I'm same, but a bit quiet and more polite round people I meet first time - then when people get to know me I swear lots and never shut up wink

I'm a LOT cooler in person, which says a lot given what a G i am on here as it is.

20 February, 2008 - 13:57

Oh I found JefC to be quieter in real life but I only met him 2-3 times briefly and I reckon you'd get the same impression from me.
In real life, Revol's generally only mouthy round people he knows.
Mara is kinda like his online personality; hates everything and has a bitter streak running through him that will climax in stabbing someone in a taxi.

Actually normally Jack's the same as online, 'cept when he gets drunk, and decides to play Nintendo Wii with his trousers round his ankles having already disgraced himself (by doing something I won't mention), like last time we were in Brighton.

Holy fuck, did i really do that? Amazing!

How had i already embarrassed myself?

20 February, 2008 - 16:49

Yes you did it and I was appalled.
You don't want me to say what preceded said trouser-downs Nintendo Wii playing.

20 February, 2008 - 16:56

Can you really not remember? That's nuts!! wink

20 February, 2008 - 18:20

People say I'm different (Tacks was expecting me to be a girl - a mistake that many have made...for some reason) but I think I'm the same.

20 February, 2008 - 18:23

Na you're way quieter in person.
You still look like this though

20 February, 2008 - 18:33

sad

20 February, 2008 - 18:47

Don't feel bad

21 February, 2008 - 03:28

In real life I am charming, unless you are a rouge.

21 February, 2008 - 07:07

olivertwister comes off as less of a know it all prick in person. Although I guess that pretty much goes for everyone on this site I think.

Luv ya oliver smile

i'm more talkative

21 February, 2008 - 11:18

i'm more or less the same IRL. apparently i have a very deadpan sense of humour which is hard to portray on t'internet, while also having a propensity to make really bad jokes a la an embarassing dad or uncle at a family gathering.

21 February, 2008 - 13:28

If I'm around people I'm comfortable with/trust/know aren't mental I say really offensive things, like really offensive, but probably not as offensive as Jack.
But I don't craic jokes like that round strangers or people I've just met - but that's pretty common social tact I gather.

21 February, 2008 - 13:52

I'm not as socially conservative in real life.

I was really weirded out at first by that. Then I lold. Then I started doing it around my own mates and went too far and some of them were weirded out. Then they lold. Now we're thinking of starting a branch of the BNP for lulz.

See I'm actually way more conservative in real life, well in my personal conduct anyway.

Because it's the best fun.I did take it too far a few times that night though, but youse put me up to it.

where others see you going too far, i see a joke just starting to mature.

21 February, 2008 - 14:37

I'm more violent and offensive in real life, like an evil twin of some unknown person, plus I say wierd shit like japery and much maligned. I am fairly genuine on here but fucking angry all the time, unless I'm happy.

21 February, 2008 - 14:48

Am I fuck. I am real god damn it.

21 February, 2008 - 14:50

You should probably stop poster obviously fake joke stuff then.

21 February, 2008 - 15:00

What "obviously fake joke stuff" are you refering to?

21 February, 2008 - 15:01

I tell less lies in real life (but only slightly less).

Refused has more of an accent in real life than how his voice sounds in my head when I read his posts, iyswim.
