Island Pamphlets, An Unsettled People (not so good, imo a bit hit and miss), I'll have a think about other stuff. But really its only a crisis for people who think a fixed national identity is essential or for those who wish that the "Protestant community" actually was one homogenous community. In my opinion its actually a good thing that it isn't.

I would suggest that it is not possible to for the working class to give their allegience to EITHER Ireland or Britain or indeed to any other capitalist state.
The idea of nationality is based on the premise that people who are born inside the borders of a particular state some how have characteristics that bind them together. This is nonsense. Class exploitation is not constrained by country borders - neither should our outlook or fight back against it.
