Do they have a Respect party in Australia?

I can't wait to hear how we shouldn't criticise as it's Islamophobic.

Thankfully he's getting torn to shreds by other muslims. The problem in this country is that racism in the media and government coupled with the petty power games of Muslim "community leaders" is creating an us and them mentality that strengthens the grip of the most reactionary within "muslim" communities.

Sounds like a bit of a mufti to me.....

He said women were "weapons" used by "Satan" to control men. "It is said in the state of zina (adultery), the responsibility falls 90 per cent of the time on the woman. Why? Because she possesses the weapon of seduction (igraa)."

Yet another genius. I'm glad he has it all sorted out for us, because I couldn't make this kinda stuff up!

i had an argument with a muslim woman about this once where she insisted this to be true. It was pretty awful, i tried to say if the men are so easily seduced, why not just do something with the men, like take their eyes out or something, sounds much more logical, but she has a long rehearsed reply about the igraa stuff and how all women posess it.

She was a new convert as well sad

Women all over the world must be glad that I'm a vegetarian.

Lets hope Pater Tatchell is down his mosque tommorow, bright and early with a mob!

Thankfully no. The local franchise of the SWP is all but dead, but fear not there's another Cliffite group that's quite "healthy". It's Socialist Alternative which came out of a 1995 split in the Oz SWP leadership.

An interesting insight to the whole veil contraversy in the UK. The mainstream media has either called for the veil to be banned out of islamaphobia/racism, or defended womens right to wear it. No one seems interested in WHY women CHOOSE to wear it.... well now we know?

This idiot's remarks are being used as yet another salvo in the intensifying media/govt campaign against Muslims here. It's just a shame for the govt that it's still about a year til the election.

I expected this thread to be about something else.
