Moved from Organise section - admin

Although we normally talk about him in the Thought section, it's about time we put his ideas into practice. What does everyone else think?

9 April, 2005 - 23:38

I agree.

10 April, 2005 - 12:19

That makes two. Who else is with me?

10 April, 2005 - 13:14

Suits me, get your guns and meet me in the barricades in oooh, say, 10 minutes?

13 April, 2005 - 12:44

Nah, nationalising the banks isn't my thing. Perhaps you should ask the Socialist Party ?

13 April, 2005 - 13:02

Harry Cleaver had some thoughts on this, he wrote them down in the form of a book and he called it.....'Reading Capital Politically'

I like Marx, I've got all his films. Not sure how you'd put his ideas into practice though?

Some of his thoughts.

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

Those are my principles. If you don't like them I have others.

Military intelligence is a contradiction in terms.

Well, ideally they should be collectively run but its better than nowt, and probably the socialist policy I most agree with.

Ideally, they shouldn't exist at all. What do we need banks for?

Oh and I suppose you'd rather keep your money in a sock under the mattress?

I never have any money.

I think working towards a moneyless society should be an objective of the anarchist movement. Evolving beyond such a vulgar means of exchange and which is a root of exploitation, greed and oppression in my opinion is ideal.

15 April, 2005 - 10:40

But what if you wanted to buy something?

Such as what?

Most things would be created for society out of necessity. Anything else would be built by individual or group persuit and distributed to those who wanted it. A computer for example.

I always loved marx insight in to the human spirit as proven by his lyrics

With a smile on your face

And show the world

All the love in your heart.

Then people gonna treat you better.

You're gonna find, yes you will,

That you're beautiful as you feel

nonsense, all monetary circulation has to be completely non-existant within 2 minutes and 15 seconds of the revolution otherwise its still just the same as capitalism!!1!!!11

Are you advocating a transitional state here? eek

where is he advocating imposing a money system on anyone ned? he just points out money will not be abolished instantly, in the same way that capitalism wont be abolished instantly

No, don't be ridiculous.

When CNT affiliated unions and syndicates proclaimed workers control they didn't ''abolish money'' straight away. I cannot think of any lunatic who thinks that at 4pm one day we'll have money and the next day we won't. Please god don't tell me that is seriously what you think the change from capitalism to libertarian communism will look like.

22 April, 2005 - 12:28

Calling on god as well now? eek wink

I just wanted to clarify exactly what you were proposing with your sarky comment. Seeing as it was in response to my post about nationalising banks I wanted to see exactly what you were getting at.

And anyway I thought everyone know by now there's only one way of moving from a capitalilst to a communist economy. wink
