My rankings:

1. liverpool [uk record for top european cup, league record] / utd [treble, fa cup record, double record, first top european cup]
3. spurs [first double this century, first european cup] / villa [first double of a currently top flight team, top european cup] / arsenal [unbeaten league season, supported by nick hornby]

special mention to preston and notts forest, who made the logic possible,.

why do you say 'as of now' and mention past things they've done?

right now it's Man United no question. Arsenal can't compete, Liverpool can't compete, and Chelsea are just the most boring team ever.

you think that each season the team is formed anew? whoever is the best in a season *is* the best?

then why stop at season, why not each game? or each goal?

my table has a strong grounding in 'history' defining who we are. indeed without history there is no existenz neutral

well certainly "as of now" - United are the best - it's your own fucking criteria mate!!!

If it were "historically speaking over the course of association football's life span" then you might have an argument, but seriously "as of now" no fucking question.

PEC Lads on a Friday night. We usually score 15+ goals in SMALL NETS. Imagine the devastation we could unleash on full size goals.

I went to see Partick about 6 weeks ago, it was a bit grim. The IDEA of Partick is better than the reality.

Notch8 is right. PEC Friday Night Lads FC is the best team ever. Me, Notch8, Revol, Mara, and hell even Refused-the-Chopper - cannot be beat!

The only thing shocking about Arsenal is how easy they lose their nerve and how the media bang on about their 'wonder kids' despite the fact they aren't much younger than Manchester United's squad.

no, it can mean either. as is not who will be the best team in 1000 years time, but now. not even who was the best team, but who are the best team now.

e.g., best is better than ronaldo atm.

or delete best with one of the scores of great tottenham hotspur players..

yeah getting thumped 4 nil by your main rivals and then having your captain break down in tears the next week and have a one man sit down protest on the pitch is bad luck...

seriously lem you're probably more mentally stable than Gallas.

Yeah not much of a fan of Gallas' leadership skills or attitude (he threw the toys out the pram at Chelsea too remember), think him being captain's part of the problem. I reckon Flamini should have the armband, he almost left but chose to stick around and fight for his place, deservedly dislodged Gilberto from the team and is now our most consistent player. We aren't the complete team, if we were, it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining and I think I'd get bored. And I'm not the fuckin media (if I was, Liverpool and Chelsea would be incredibly unpopular) so I can't be blamed for how they cover Arsenal. I do reckon we're a sea of untapped potential.

Being thumped 4-0 in the FA Cup don't bother me too much, although it could have been avoided. And of course we shocked Man U fans in Chigwell, Larne and Shangahi with our performances this season. Not to mention those Spuds who thought they'd nick a Champions League place off us only to find themselves battling relegation!! Hahahahahaha...now we've gone off the boil for various reasons, I'd list the upheaval over Eduardo's injury, possibly a lack of couple of covering defenders, the ANC etc as a few of them.

to be fair we spent alot of money last summer. and the odds for relegation i don't recall being much shorter that 30-1.

oh wise up - you got hammered by your nearest rivals in a cup competition you won less than 3-years ago (on penalties after playing appallingly negative football) and made a big deal about it. So what's your plan? Cos you're out of the fucking title race. Chelsea are our rivals now. And Liverpool have the away-goal in CL
Basically, Arsenal's season is over already, unlucky.

Are you saying you're from London, north London?
And there's me thinking you were from east London, the east bit.

Yawn.

Come down to Dublin for tomorrow nights El Classico Bohs v Rovers and tell me it's a joke. Sitting on your barstoll surrounded by fucking muppets in Liverpool and United jersies clapping and shouting at the TV is a million miles away from actually supporting a team at a ground surrounded by people actually from the same city as you.

Bohs is also run on Anarchist principles, though I wouldn't tell people who say anarchism would never work that little tipplet (is tipplet a word?)

Viva Bohs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGrdvA1oFD8 Bohs fans in Derry last year, shortly after we smased up a pub smile Note the cool as tifo waver near the end

Word

I actually went to watch Shamrock Rovers v Bohs about ten years ago when i was visiting this guy i used to know who was a rovers' supporter. was good fun, enhanced by the palapable hatred between the supporters and amusing chants about who was more orange

Going to watch my team get relegated on saturday, we'll just have to sing extra loud so that noone notices sad

That little act of sectarian violence is about as welcome as the C-18 ruffians masquerading as Linfield fans who cut some guy's throat the other day in Belfast.

And are you really trying to say you have to live in a city where a football team is based to have emotional attachment to that team?

Word up

On the question of who is more Orange I can proudly inform you it's us. Set up by protestant Medical Doctors in 1890. We also broke the pickets during the 1913 lockout.

Sorry I'm not about to cultivate an interest in football that is blatantly horrible to watch out of some duty-bound loyalty to a mere locality. If football's shite to watch, it's shite to watch.
And yeah I went to my first local match up here when i was about 8 - even then I realised it was fucking shite!

Fuck sake, from reading some of your posts it's obvious you have no sense of humor and take yourself well to seriously.. Obviously my smile was in jest, do you think I'm actually going to support a secterian attack on a pub? If you knew me you'd know I was back up in that pub a few weeks later with loads of other Bohemian and Derry City fans handing over a cheque to the owner.

And yes I really am trying to tell you that you have to be from that city/ or at least country to have an emotional attachement to a club.

Do you think it's a good situation to have thousands of irish people "supporting" teams from places they've never been to?

When did it become ok for Anarchists to support globalisation?

Fuck Bohemians. There's only one team that's fit to wear those colours in Ireland.
