Rancid
first three albums are good.
I bet you have dreams of being a vigilante's side kick.
That doesn't even make sense.
The first albums are, in fact, shit. I used to maintain they were good, as I'd loved them, but listening to them again today, Jesus Christ, what a load of utter shite.
And Life won't wait was obviously the best album, but I bet even that's shit now.

I take it back you actually do have some proper brain disorder.
Also I don't trust people who all of a sudden start hating stuff they properly loved back in the day, I mean yeah there's shit that's just embarrassing but not stuff that you were properly into.
Give'm the boot, the roots are radical.
Life Wont Wait was always the best one. Im gonna download it right now.
oh get fucked Life Won't Wait was no way the best.
Let's Go and Out Come the Wolves clearly beat it.
Some of their best songs are on the other albums but LWW as a whole is just amazing.
Even I think Rancid were decent, and I despise everything ever about punk.
Everything up to and including LWW is good.
Jack is wrong, plus he likes folk so fuck him.
Fucking hell. I loved this band so much, and saw them a year and abit ago
. I think the earlier stuff was alot better, im not too excited about the new album coming out though...
i like loads of stuff from when i was punk. Fuck, i'll still admit suffer by bad religion is one of my favourite albums. However, when listened to when not a punk, rancid are shite.
And even if you do like them, who the fuck over 18 thinks lets go and out come the wolves are the best albums?
Here listen I was NEVER punk and even I admit they had decent songs. Wise up son.
Rancid wasn't so bad, from what I heard...
I haven't been a real punk rocker since the mid and late '70s (yeah, I'm that old - born Oct. 1961), so I didn't hear a whole lot of Rancid's stuff (which I guess was mainly in the '90s?), just songs here and there, but I didn't mind them. I could agree with people who said they imitated The Clash a little, but not obscenely so(?)...
And then a couple of years ago... I got into one of my waves of liking dancehall music (thanks mainly to M.I.A.'s first album), and I got a little interested in Buju Banton's stuff (not all his lyrics, of course, but some of his style)... And I read that Rancid had actually worked with him. That was kind of impressive, I think - I wouldn't have expected nth-generation punk rockers to be working with a real dancehall guy (though maybe I had the wrong expectations - I don't know).
I was wondering if anyone's heard the stuff they did together or knows more about that...
rancid is weak.. god you people suck ass! there are primitivists and fascist fucks with better tastes in music.

They did the song life wont wait together. Its pretty good.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that!
I got in a fight with Rancid once. Funny story. It was when they were first starting to get big and on tour with the Offspring. Like early or mid-90s. Me and some crusty friends were spare changing out front of their show and that dude Lars saw us and tried to be all down and asked if we wanted him to try and put us on the guest list and we laughed and said fuck no and that his band sucked and we just wanted to exploit their mall punk fans for beer money. Dude got seriously pissed and started at it with my friend Paul (who's dead now, but was a tough dude and had the guy in a headlock pretty quick) and all these roadies and a couple band members came over to break it up and a few scuffles broke out. I really wanted to punch out their goofy singer, but he stayed back and yelled something about how "punx don't fight punx" and that the club owners were calling the cops. What a tool. Fuck those guys.
"punx don't fight punx"
Thats so big in Dublin. Ape shall not kill ape...
We used to work togehter, band helped band
But now it's different, it's OUT OF HAND
It can't be true that I'm the only one who's proud
Of the way it used to be, am I ALONE IN THE CROWD?
Gotta get back to what it was before
'Cause we forgot what we were FIGHTING FOR
Let's end the bullshit, end it soon
So we can beat a path back
To our fucking roots!
Unity!!!

Yeah, I never got the whole superficial unity thing. That situation was pretty stupid all around. My crew of that period was definitely of the "keep it real" squatter/street punk variety and those Rancid guys seemed all about proving their own street cred because of the MTV-sellout backlash thing. Definitely assholes vs. morons. Kinda funny as a dumb "what I did in my youth" nostalgia story though.
the hardline band Raid had some sweet lyrics about unity
Unsilent Minority
i know what i am and i know who you are, you are the enemy. the law is laid down, my rule is laid down and the boundaries are set - you're either friend or foe. our unity within the "scene" is a contradiction. i don't unite with what i despise. don't go along, i won't get along in this united scene dream. i won't pretend to care and waste my time, waste my time on you. our past was spent being a victim of rudicule and now the victim is you. the game is gonna stop with a confrontation and we won't be take lightly. forget the past,
I was always more of an INFEST fan:
all you do is talk, you never act
hypocrite, and that's a fact
positive scene is a must
without friendship, there's no trust
visions of unity seem so nice
but when i see a fight, i think twice
when i go to the shows and see stupidity
all i can say is 'where's the unity?'
alcohol seperates us
use your head, keep in touch
positive scene in our land
lending your brother that helping hand
visions of unity seem so nice
but when i see a fight, i think twice
when i go to shows i see the stupidity
Hahahaha...
It's funny 'cos they were actually dealing drugs at the time or something

I hassled the singer from the ataris so bad he took out his wallet and tried to give me all of his money - when I refused it (stupid...) his "fans" then proceeded to snatch it off him.
Since it's all about the unity now:
What is this world coming to
There's no faith, there's no hope
People live in fear, and kill and
ask why die? What is this world
coming to I can't believe what you're
trying to do you're killing people all time
and not paying for your crime, what is
this world coming to I can't believe
what you're trying to do you're killing people all
the time and not paying for your crime
look at me and look at you you think we're
all same but don't you know we're different
in your own way Do you got that fucked up
attitude? You say you don't care but
we all need unity for all of us to share
no faith, no hope, live, kill
why die! Why don't you go fuck yourself
and let me live my life.
Blah!!!
Oh and 25 Ta Life have about 50 songs dealing with unity, and alternately, getting stabbed in the back.
"this song's called wise to the game, cos yous guys know what's up, it's not about bringin guns to shows, it's not about bringin knives, it's about unity"
Now - is the time for unity
Why - because it means a lot to me
We - can be strong once again
I've seen it before and I know we can
They - always tried to hold us down
We - are the ones who are still around
Why - because we fought for unity
That is something they don't wanna see
They'll always try but they can't hold me
There are many who have come and gone
I've seen the weak, I've seen the strong
But to those who are true, you know who you are
This is all about you and me, and our fight against society
Our time has come; we have to break free
Don't think that we believe your lies
We see the fear in your eyes
You can't change us so don't even try
It's time for us to make this last
We've learned our lessons from the past
I've seen it before and I know we can
Ugh god 25 ta life man?
I was there when Lars from Rancid got his head stomped in on stage at Coney Island High in NYC.. that was radical!
Ugh god 25 ta life man?
awful awful band, as were Comin Correct
None of those lyrics are 25 Ta Life by the way, it's Madball.

Another song about revol
Thats so big in Dublin. Ape shall not kill ape...
They can only unite by demonising Top Man Man.
Another song about revol
There's already "armchair anarchist" by Runnin Riot - which was actually dedicated onstage to Revol.

ps - the answer is "No.".
