Please.

I still haven't finished Angel or even started Battlestar Galactica, 6feet Under, or Sopranos. That's how far behind I am. I've heard Heros and The Wire are good. I've been watching the US version of the Office, which is surprisingly good.

Any good brit TV? I like brit TV, even crap stuff like Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

Revol, it's true. I'm really pretty lackluster.

I can't follow that show. I tried to like it.

well, it is pretty fast-paced.... didnt really have a hard time following it, though.

really, though, it was just fun listening to the whole rhythm of the lines, everything is so well-timed, stylistic... who needs to follow so hard when you can just sit back and go with it?

oh well, anyway. i keep hearing people here mentioning that dexter thing.... what is that? every time i hear, i keep thinking of that cartoon, dexter's lab, or whatever it's called... surely not that?

Heroes and Dexter for thinking tv (at least as much as thinking tv exists)...

Scrubs, Flight Of The Conchords and Robot Chicken for mindless hilarity.

edit - Feighnt is referring to Pushing Daisies which is worth a try - its either a love it or hate it thing though I reckon (I loved it). Really vivid colours, beautiful show. About a guy with the power to bring the dead back to life, who bakes pies and solves murders.

Dexter isn't Dexter's Lab. Dexter is about a serial killing cop, and is some of the best TV in recent memory, easily.

edit again - I'd also reccomend both seasons of Sleeper Cell. I'm just about to watch the last episode of series 2. It shits all over the steaming pile that is 24...

Nate - if you like sci-fi then it's gotta be Battlestar.

Thanks y'all.

I haven't seen Pushing Daises yet but I want to. The main guy in it was in this great series called Wonderfalls, ran just one season then got canceled. That's another thread actually, shows that got canceled that people ought to know about.

The Wire , The Wire & The Wire! Start from the begining!

Battlestar is also amazing.
Robot Chicken, trailer Park Boys (first four seasons are possibly the funniest TV ever) and Boondocks are fucking funny.
Rome, Deadwood, and Arrested Developement all get Honorable mentions.
Rossanne is also good, but harder to find.

Mm, Outrageous Fortune is good indeed. Never seen that much, but always enjoyed it.

Pushing Daisies was apparently originally planned to be a spin-off from another show called Dead Like Me. Anyone ever seen that? Wondering if its worth getting...

I'll second Khawaga's reccomendation of Extras too, fucking hilarious comedy. Chuck was a bit shit though (only watched ep 1, didnt think it was good enough to continue).

True, but it's my form of completely mindless entertainment. No depth what so ever, I can just feel my brain shut off smile

Maybe I'll give ep 2 a go. For a bit of ep 1 I was thinking it was like every great 80's/early 90's geek movie, but that only lasted maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the ep...one more try to make up my mind.

If you like death themed comedies, I'll also reccomend Reaper. 10 eps so far. Young guy has his soul sold to Devil by parents before he's born, when he turns 21, he has to be devil's bounty hunter for escaped souls from hell.

Episode 6 (which I'm watching now) has Leon Czolgosz as a character too...

p.s: Khawaga, I tried episode 2 of Chuck, but still not enjoying it. Oh well.

edit: Also started watching Mad Men, about advertising company in the 60s. Seems good so far.

I did try Reaper. It's ok, though I like Chuck much better.

Mad Men is really really good.

No one said Prison Break wasn't watched, I think they were pointing out it was watched almost exclusively by women,.

Damn right it is. I remember seeing them years ago in bars at stand-up nights, they were just as good back then. Season 2 will be out later in '08.

If you haven't seen The Wire, go get hold of the first series. It is the best television drama ever made. When you have worked your way through all four series, if you haven't seen the Sopranos go get the first series of that. When you've watched all of that pick up Deadwood. That should give you about 150 hours of television before you have to move a little bit down the quality pecking order.

When you do eventually get there, Rome is excellent. Heroes is slight but entertaining.

I'm going to give it a try, even though everyone apart from you says that Prison Break is good because the main guy is sooooo hot.

Actually I did watch like 2 episodes and it seemed pretty exciting. Almost ridiculously fast-paced. The plot seemed a bit too stupid though to be believable.
