You're not talking about wetheyouth are you?!?!
That red and balck star tattoo
oh yes.
Shef AF had the pleasure of meeting the man, the legend last night.
Tax: Don't i know you...?
W: Oh tax!
T: why are you carrying a bundle of CPGB papers and wearing a hammer and sickle badge...?
...and it just got better from there. Its a fair point though. Without a revolutionary party, how are we ever going to get organised?
Hmm?
well quite.

ha ha that doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Look at the crap he was spewing about HOPI, not to mention all the over-enthuastic shite he spewed about loads of stuff, rover workers, etc. That type of unrealistic optimism and bad analysis is made for leninist groups.
And I think some people thought I was too hard on him...

in all seriousness there are gonna be some fairly red faces over this. I think knocking back the IWW cos you are an ANARCHO - syndicalist, not just a syndicalist, then join the CPGB a few months later is especially delicious.

Yeah I agree with the first bit, cos it's been obvious all along his politics were shit. However the latter you don't have a point, cos anarcho-syndicalists believe in the need for political organisation, as do the CPGB. The IWW specifically denies it's a political organisation. (a-s's say their orgs are political AND economic)
Oh WTY, why oh why!?I thought you were just being polite to the Swuppies out of pity!
On the other hand this may just be a "phase", WTY may wake up tomorrow and come to his senses?
Come to his senses? I spose you can hope. I don't find this surprising though, it's not like he had solidly decent politics before.
I consider WTY a friend and despite his obviously bad current political choice it doesnt come to much of a surprise, for quite complicated reasons he didnt feel happy with SF and it was clear he was moving towards some sort of leftism for some time. I think more so than simply having a chuckle about this we need to ask why didnt he remain in the anarchist movement? As well as SF he did have involvement in the IWW.

His profile says he's still in the IWW, and Communist Students...
I only knew him via his posts here, but I got the impression he didn't quite understand the weak state of the working class at the current time, and so seemed to believe that if activists "did" more it would help. Most anarchists are more sensible than that - most struggles at the moment are going to be defeated - and know that even if they did run around being super-anarchists all the time it wouldn't make any difference. Leninist groups love and need this kind of enthusiasm. They keep their members excited with "revolution just around the corner" mythology and then use their young members' energy to do shit like sell papers. Then the members burn out and leave a couple of years later, as I'm sure WTY will.
fair point
surely anyone though whose become a member of communist students will end up in CPGB though, most of the committee meetings of communist students seem to have a high representation of actual CPGB members who seem to be doing the most in terms of 'thrust'

is gonna look pretty stupid on your arm now you've joined the Communist Party.
DONCHA THINK?
