From Monday they'll start cancelling bookings made through third parties, luckily I fly on Sunday. They specifically mentioned my middleman company smile

But there is some good stuff on the website.

Quote:
Can I carry my wedding dress in the aircraft cabin?

Each passenger is permitted to take one piece of cabin baggage on board weighing up to 10 kilos and not exceeding the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. As long as your wedding dress fits within these dimensions when packed, you can take it into the cabin with you.

We do not have any storage facilities on board to hang items or store items that exceed the above dimensions and therefore if the wedding dress does not fit within the cabin baggage dimensions, it should then be packed appropriately and checked in as part of your checked baggage allowance.

Alternatively, passengers may purchase an extra seat for the carriage of a wedding dress in the cabin. To do this you should make a booking online for 2 seats and then enter the passenger name for the additional wedding dress seat as Miss EXTRA SEAT. Alternatively you can contact our reservations department to do this.

If you have purchased an extra seat please arrive at the departure gate at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time. Online check-in is not available when you have booked an extra seat for a wedding dress.

I like the bit about entering the name of Miss EXTRA SEAT!! for the dress.

I like this kind of bizzareness. I mean, all the critcism of their basic - very basic! - service and they footle around with wedding frippery. grin

Yep it is an appropriate phrase!!

The main thing is, do you get on with your new sis-in-law to be? I mean that is more imp. in the long run than whether/how they marry...

I knew of a couple who got married that same week last year... they didn't tell anyone it was their wedding so it would be a surprise but of course that meant a lot of people didn't make the effort after the expense and hectic nature of the previous weeks... wall According to my pal it went well in the end but more by luck than judgement!

If I was getting married, and my fiance wanted us to fly ryanair, I wouldn't get married.

A bigger problem would be if your fiance wanted to wear a dress bigger and flashier than yours, requiring to have its own EXTRA Seat.

Conor proposes with ring out a cracker, "It's called keeping it real!"

lol.

dee, a proper wedding = white wedding in church or stately home, bride vowing to obey groom, no travelling on ryanair.

Aww. Who is the lucky girl?

OK, that's a proper wedding? But what if, following tradition, you are not entirely of the right status to wear white?
And what is this shit about obeying? Is that still in the service?

Cue Dee with relativist shit about how 'a wedding should be whatever you want it to be, maaannn'

its optional to leave the obey bit in. I'm going to say it in mine, for the lulz. Wearing white is a recent thing, ony been around 150 odd years, I don't really believe that it symbolises virginity. Its just fashionable.

This thread is now about weddings.

I thought me and my ex were going to get married, buy a house (which we did), and have 2.4 children (exactly 2.4, no more, no less) and live happy ever after.

Boy is my face red.

xconorx, my love, my sweet, just keep quiet, k? As a hopeless romantic i can understand your appreciation of soft shit like rings and flowers - I'm just curious to see what the youngsters think about the waste of time that are weddings. Now go watch Love Actually or some such shit.

In fairness though, wedding dresses are pretty retarded. I probably would actually get married in trainers like Refused said. Maybe a clip-on tie. I would consider wearing a shirt and tie.

ah yes, a legal and social occaison to cement a romantic relationship. What a waste of time.
