Have you been able to get out and about?? Luckily i have a nice rest day today so i am gonna snuggle back down in bed soon.. Gotta an imp. medical appt in london tomorrow tho so i hope our assinine transport system is recovered by then. i haven't listened to any transport reports today but it'll prolly be the usual ineptitude. 
Anyways i know i should know this - i feel i used to know this but have forgotten 
can a scentific type explain why it is always colder before it starts to snow than after it has snowed??

LW, just given some thought to the meteorological question: I suspect that the reason it feels coldest before snow and then warmer afterwards is because snow can be caused as warm air carrying moisture hits cold air. So you're in the cold air; a warm mass of wet air comes along and snow is precipitated and becomes warmer. This might be bollocks but it's definitely a theory.

More snow.
solid fall of snow in west wales - 2 - 3 " already today (Friday).
Roads not gritted, snow started just after morning rush hour. last night's local weather forecast on BBc didn't say we'd be getting any snow today - but the national one got it right!
Already been one major road accident on the main road to carmarthen - and likely to be more. snow is settling on the main road outside my house.
Hope we don't get any more power cuts!!
