It's a social construct, innit. Working class people are condemned just to stumble around bumping into things, unlike the middle class who take refuge in the comfortable diagnosis of "blindness."

And her husband's a doctor, which proves it.

Big deal their eyes don't work - who's to say they're suffering? huh? Why do they have to medicalise it and give it this name "blindness"?
Maybe it's the people WITH functioning sight that are really sick!!!

Do people even know the history/herstory of blindness??!?1!!???
The term blindness was only invented after the electric lightbulb was invented by Edison. Previously people who couldn't see in daylight, or see fire were just rounded up and shot. They assumed everyone would be able to see these new fancy electro lights, but when it wasn't so they decided to make up a condition "blindness" to explain it away, not even bothering to look as social/cultural factors.

It was actually lighbulb manufacturers what done it cos they knew these "blinds" wouldn't buy their bulbs so they figured they'd corner the market by selling them "blind medicine", which actually just an early form of Tizer.

I don't watch Neighbours anymore (I've gone back to EastEnders) but didn't she go blind in 2002 as well?

Ok captain serious here tongue but just for outsiders' information... The Susan Kennedy character has been diagnosed with MS. The MS Society here are hoping that her portrayal of someone with MS will help educate the general public about how varied the symptoms of MS are and the struggles people with MS face everyday. This is also of personal interest to me as I live with someone with MS.
all the best.

Of course they had some serious point behind the whole storyline
It's political correctness gone mad.

I'm not so sure any more. Don't watch it myself but the MS Society put out a bulletin about it only a few months ago so I think that it's pretty current - over to you xConorx... how long's she had it?
all the best.

She ran over that tomboy a few weeks ago because she was all sleepy and mental so she's had it a while.
But Dr K was the first to say this week and the other physician was all like "don't be jumping to conclusions" and Dr K was all like " dammit do something she might have MS n shit!!!"

Susan is in denial today
She's all like "I don't got no MS"

Listen science says you have it. Dr K says you've got it. You've got it.
I know Dr K is a womanising philanderer who did the dirt with Sarah and Izzy but to be honest, I wouldn't trust any male doctor that isn't a womanising prick wink
