Elastica were the only good band mentioned so far. Most of the best female fronted or all female bands in the 90s were yanks.

Fuck, how could I have forgotten Mazzy Star - I still listen to them all the time although I kinda assumed that they were done and dusted by the 90's, but the Breeders... good call indeed. I used to have such a crush on Kim Deal cool .
