haven't posted on libcom for a while but anyway, heres a link to a video of me perfoming a song i wrote (and knicked the chorous from Blind Willie Johnson).
I don't think hes recognisable in this video but for those that would like to know a certain icc member features on the piano in this video as well.

I had actually thought about suggesting a subforum for discussing music, making links between musicians, posting videos and recordings etc, but since people have been so shitty on this thread I am thinking maybe libcommunity or libcom is not the place to do it.

I was in a spice girls band when i was 8, we did covers of spice girls songs and sometimes boyzone, it was much better than anything on this thread.

I watched the video again, and here's the problem: if you're gonna try to shout the blues like Blind Willie only to then rap like Shaggy, you better expect people to call you white. There's nothing racist about it.

I can't speak for libcommunity, but I think there's a strong strand of shooting the head off anyone who sticks their head over the parapet in English working class culture, which is, to some extent reflected by the (international) contributions to this thread (That's assuming a status for 'working class culture' in these fora which may be exaggerated). I've been as guilty as anyone else of taking the piss out of people - the question is whether it is meant out of blind malice or, more likely, in that peculiarly English way, of attempting to establish some intimacy or friendship with someone through mockery and derision, rather than honest praise.
