Virtual Anarchist Commune

I hope this isn't considered to be spam. This is an idea I had and I thought it might be interesting, but I need more Anarchists to join me. Basically, I'm a member of a website: GlobalTeen.net It is a political website for teens, but what's unique about it is that it also has a virtual nation (GT Nation) and an assembly that acts as the nation's parliament. It also has political parties. What I was hoping to do is have an Anarchist commune within GTN, and instead of having an armed struggle, we can have a similar struggle, except through the Assembly. Basically, we can fight for control over our land, autonomy, etc. It could be really interesting, but to start it, I need a couple more Anarchists.

However, there are a couple of conditions. To be a member of the Assembly, one ought to have at least 50 posts and be active for at least 28 days. Basically, if you arrive, you can be part of a party (or in this case, the Anarchist commune), but you cannot be in the Assembly until you meet those conditions.

I think it would be fun.

If you are interested, feel free to join. My name there is the same as my name here.

So I guess no one wants to join. Fair enough.

Playing games is nice, and everything, but joining parties that are involved in a parliament in order to gain control over land, etc., is counter to everything libertarian communism stands for. And since it is a game where the only option is parliamentarianism, there is nothing there to do that would contribute to even a simulation of class struggle.

I guess that's why you've had no takers. Sorry.

Isn't libertarian communism about ceasing control of your own land, and managing it yourself?

siezing
IT's not about people's "own" land it's about using all the available resources to give everyone the best quality of life possible, rather than allowing large sections of the population to not have access to basic necessities except at the price of work for which they never receive the full benefit.
As TOJ we can't get rid of one elite by electing another. It is the system that is the problem, not the people who are running it.

Lone Wolf, how old are you? Global Teen is for people between 12 and 25. I guess it tolerates people who aren't strictly teenagers. The reason it doesn't allow others, though, is because it was created and is run by teenagers. It's basically a place where teenagers can discuss stuff. You know, not everywhere are teenagers taken seriously. We believe that teenagers are the future, and that's why it's focused on teenagers.

To those who claim it's not libertarian communist, I'm not an elections guy, but that's the only way we can have a "virtual commune". What can we do? Have a virtual revolution? Lol. I just thought it'd be fun. We can make it as "revolutionary" as we can, but you know.. it's not real.. so..

You can try for a "virtual revolution" and why not??? Because it is not real it means you are safe to play around with the idea and see what happens.

I am out of your age remit - lol!! I have always respected the views of teenagers tho and in fact any one in any age group who has something of interest to say. And at a political meeting i was at last year -IWW - the best contribution IMHO was from a pre-teen.

Well you cannot have a virtual revolution, because the people you're revolting against simply won't give a fuck. Imagine:

"GIVE US OUR RIGHTS! YOU FUCKING EXPLOITERS!!!"

"Go fuck yourselves"

There cannot be demonstrations online, can there? What are we gonna do? Type in: **We're demonstrating**???

Lol.

Yeah on-line placard waving sounds a bit dull lol.
I meant more definitive practical action tbh.
Why not just blow up the Assembly???

As i said to you at the time i think he and his contribution were pretty amazing tbh and if all kids were that cool, aware and dedicated then the future of this country would be in safe hands. cool

Yep, he's a pretty sussed dude. When I think back to what I was like at 12 or 13, then comparatively, I reckon I must have had shit for brains.

Abood, I'll pass the message on to our kid and see if he's interested.
