You've never heard Hardrock Gunter's "Grandfather Clock" then.
The whole suicide girls thing always reminded me of Richard Kern's "New York Girls" book; Kerns used to do videos for Sonic Youth and approached the more attractive members of the audience in the aftershow. It was only the accidental discovery of Pat Hughes late blog - http://badnewshughes.blogspot.com - that I realised it contained more than naked indie gals.
Burlesque is definitely toss though; especially when it's performed in the backroom of a pub as part of a ska-punk clubnight. Ugh.
