I pity the person who can only hear music in the form of contrived 3 minute pieces.

Music is encoded in the very fabric of life, our soundtrack defies all rythmn and structure, the proletarian revolution is our crescendo.

Says the indie boy. We all know that real music comes in hours-long DJ sets with no discernable tracks, and fucking brutal bass, played by geeky looking men with laptops roll eyes

ooh yeah.

Nice one!!! One of my favourite ever albums. Undertow is good but doesn't have the same kind of spooky feel as aenima or lateralus, and Opiate is good but barely recognisable as the same band (except for the vocals which are still great) - much more raw and old school metal/rock. That said, Tool are one of the few metal bands that don't seem to have got crap as they've got more money to spend - you can definately tell that lateralus has a bigger budget, but it's still really original and unusual. 8)

yeah i like the production on lateralus its got great dynamics and a big sound [/techie]

first impression is aenima isn't as good but i'll relisten on headphones on the train to work, stuff sounds better that way wink. I'm now onto (t)INC, one track in, and so far its neutral

Yeah I guess it's not got the same amount of technical tweakery going on, it's a bit... oh I don't know the words. I prefer aenima to lateralus it's a bit darker, but I guess it dpends on what you're into. And yeah it's a really personal album for me, means a lot embarrassed Like, stinkfist for example managed to put into words all kinds of weird shit I was going through but never would have been able to express, and it's just... so fucking good.

Ah deary me I'm going all nostalgic and emotional!

How's that even possible? INC are a band!

edit - here's their smash it up video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syJ-aE6JF5E

right now - few bits'n'pieces by Cazals and then probably a couple of indie-dancy-remix things to get me in the party mood. Wooh yeah.

Behind Enemy Lines - Murder at the G8 Summit , off of the "know your enemy" album; it is solid hardcore punk.

Where did you get soulseek from, some sneaky fuckers offer downloads of pay versions, I wouldn't put a virus or two past them.

Le souvenir de vous me tue, Burgundian chansons from the court of Phillip the Good.

Thought it would put me in a mediaeval mood, it hasn't so far, but I'll give it a bit longer.
