Hey peeps
Now we have so many ah Yank posters this would be a nice question to ask I think..
A few of you have been ah somewhat consternated by certain English phrases ..
Some of your phrases also make an impact on us..
One i like is "She's packing.." to denote carrying a sidearm .. Kinda cool.. "Watch out folks, Lone Wolf is packing.. "

close! cuts dont have to be secret...they just have to be safe or atleast out of sight from auhtorites or unwanted people.
you got the five O dead on.
harshing someones buzz doesnt always mean bringing down someones drug induced high (but alot of slang in the states has to do with drugs or has roots in drugs), it can also mean killing someones fun.
going big isnt so much the process of smoking but how much you are smoking and how much you bought. you can also go big by buying loads of anything or just one thing that costs alot of money.

On the tube, as in when they're in England? Or generically on the subway?
I think only about 1 in 4 or 5 have this problem... but most of the other 75-80% of us don't have the initiative to nail those people in the kidneys, so that minority is effectively able to clog escalator traffic.

On the tube when they're in London.
I think the problem is that there's quite a lot of background noise on the tube, so that Americans need to stand right next to each other in order to communicate, one on either side of the escalator. Because they can't get their voices to carry like us Brits.
