I don't know if you have heard, and I am sorry to break it to you if you haven't, but the Beatles have split up.

The Falklands war was kind of funny, but not because of the british I think.

Anyway, it's obviously untrue, I'm fucking hilarious.

For example, the other day I was at a bar, and I leaned on the bar, thinking that it was there. However, since I'd last looked, someone had moved the far, and so I fell onto the floor!

LOL!

Actually, I think the Beatles were shite. I was just trying to stress it was the same time period as Benny Hill.

That was just an example. The falling over at the bar thing was more recent. I think Jack has proven that he is also A. British and B. not funny and just in the last 5 minutes!

Would I be funnier if I pretended I needed a wheelchair, but as soon as my carer was out of sight was able to walk without impediment, and did behind his back with escalating hilarity?

Lets say British humor starts with the canturberry tales and culminates in da Ali G. show. Nothing actually funny. A long long history of bad comedy. So again I ask what the hell is wrong?

Actually you've just reminded me of another entry for my rubbish things thread.

Yeah sure, but this a thread about why you aren't funny.

Although I will say that pic of the giant sideburns is funny. That was you right?

Aside from Monty Python I'm trying desperately to think of any British humour I think is actually funny......................... Nope, nothing......................Well maybe Black Adder, especially the last series. Mr. Bean, very not funny.

Comedy is actually probably the only part of popular culture we do significantly better than seppos.

I'm with Devrim, though I'd ad Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm to that list - ALL other american comedies are absolute complete shit.

Whereas the Brits, much as they are cunts, have produced great comedy, probably precisely because they are cunts.
Alan Partridge
the Day Today
Brass Eye
Nathan Barley
Red Dwarf
The Young Ones
Monty Python
Lee + Herring
Big Train
Garth Marenghi
Bottom
Fast Show (yeah i actually like it)

Oh yeah and Father Ted in Ireland

None of these would ever be made by a simple american twat.

Seinfield is really shite. I don't know the second one. Maybe it will be on Turkish TV next year.
Farther Ted, however, was superb.

Father Ted is great. i'm surprised at this thread, because if anything it's Americans who don't understand comedy what with their lack of a sense of irony. I watch the US version of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and it's complete shite. None of them are funny, not even the token Canadian.

The only thing good about the British Whose Line were the Americans.
