Next meeting scheduled for 8 March at 7pm -- venue to be confirmed. Probably New Cross.

SW17 = Tooting, right? confused ..... if so, New Cross ..... hmmmmm....... Northern Line to London Bridge, then there's an overland every 5-10 minutes, & it's a 5 minute journey. Otherwise it'd be 2 buses -- if you got to Camberwell Green, there's loads of buses to New X from there.

(Predicts a slew of responses about the infinite number of better ways there are from Tooting to New X wink )

As for last night -- good turn out. 10 altogether; 2 from N London SolFed come to offer their support & assistance, the rest of us from S London -- Lewisham, Peckham, Brockley, Deptford. Good mix of experience & know-how also -- me, a tired old former trade union hack wink , local govt workers, students, advice workers. As you can probably tell, I came out feeling very positive. Unusual for a miserable old sod like me.

I take it you'll be sending a report to the SF IB and the National Secretary.

Ello, inevitable Freedom news questions follow:

- What are your aims for activity in South London?

- Have you discussed any startup campaigns for the area?

- Who do you contact (so a specific email/phone number PO Box etc) to get involved?

- What is your ethos (yeah I know, I know, look at the SolFed constitution, but in your own words)?

- What other groups in South london are you hoping to co-operate with (so I can ask them for quotes)?

sw17 - New X

Ping - Earlsfield isnt it? Or did u move? Anyway, train from Clapham Junc. to New X Gate. Thats the speediest way, otherwise its a bit of a mission by bus.

Saii - give us a couple more meetings to answer those questions i think once things start getting moving smile

Wont be at the next meeting as its Int. Women's Day and there be more fun things to be doing wink

Hmm okay, but it'd be good to put in a NIB to show Freedom's on the ball, then maybe a bigger interview for the UK page once you've got yourself sorted out?

I'll try and get a quote from Solfed national about how good it is to see the expansion to bulk it out.

Details of next meeting

The date: Tuesday 8 March

The time: 7pm

The place: The Hobgoblin pub, New Cross (opposite New X Gate station, on New Cross Road)

We had a nightmare finding a venue. There's a relatively quiet area, with a big table out of site of the TV screens. Look for the bloke who looks a bit like Foucault. wink
