Midlands discussion forum, Sunday 1.30pm, Secular Hall, Leicester
Greetings all, and sorry for the short notice on posting this.
I'd like to invite all participants to the Midlands Discussion Forum (MDF) meeting this coming Sunday (3rd Sept) in Leicester.
The meeting will be at the Secular Hall on Humberstone Gate, opposite Sainsbury's, at 1.30pm.
For those who don't know what the MDF is, it is a forum for all those who believe that debate, the confrontation of ideas, is vital for the working class to devlop its consciousness for the overthrow of capitalism. There is a short intro to the MDF on another post on this forum, entitled 'Midlands Discussion Forum meeting 06/08/06' (if I was cleverer, that would be a link, but it isn't. Sorry).
In case anyone has read the report on the WMA site about a recent meeting that one of the participants of the MDF recently attended, I'd like to clear up a few points, where we don't seem to have communicated the situation very well to the WMA (so sorry about that WMA-ers, we'll try to be clearer next time!):
1 - our meetings generally begin at 1.30 not 2pm;
2 - we're not a membership organisation, we're an open forum - in other words, you don't have to 'join' anything;
3 - you don't have to pay £2 to come to the meeting - because we're not a membership organisation... though we do ask for donations to cover room hire and photocopying etc - 'ask' and 'donations' being the important words here.
Thanks for your time, I hope to see some of you on Sunday.
Fraternally,
Slothjabber for the MDF
