It is believed two days of non-strike action will take place on January 4 and 6, during which time attendants will walk the streets but not issue any tickets.

excellent

parkin attendants? whats next? solidarity with police officers on strike?

2 January, 2008 - 19:03

Anarky! park where u want!!!11

2 January, 2008 - 19:23

thats not an answer, but I suppose trying to read between lines that you imply parkin attendants are necessary part of our society, yes?

2 January, 2008 - 19:26

So parking attendents perform the same social role for you as cops? Dickhead.

2 January, 2008 - 19:29

oh, you seem to be tracking my every post, you must be dead bored smile

2 January, 2008 - 19:35

Besides- I never said parking attendants play same role as cops- where did you read it? You are trying to manipulate everything I say and this looks like some personal problem you have got. I already proposed yo ua solution in a different thread.

One thing cops and parking attendats have in common is word "useless" though.

2 January, 2008 - 19:36

Lots of jobs are useless though, like call centres for example, thats not why we support workers on strike though.

2 January, 2008 - 19:43

no, indeed its not why we support workers on strike, but parking attendants are merely parasites employed by council to extort money . Would you support strike of bailiffs? tax collectors? they are in the same line as parking attendats to me.

Right, you totally weren't implying anything there.

I'm gonna go with GDID on this one.

Don't forget those damn bank tellers!

2 January, 2008 - 19:47

They are not really comparible to bailiffs though, they don't generally destroy peoples lives, they just charge them for parking. We don't support them because we think they are revolutionaries but because when workers take action against the bosses and win it helps to build confidence in collective action. Their actual social role is pretty irrelevant here.

Watch out, this guy is tough and is coming to a city near you soon!

2 January, 2008 - 19:53

no, they don't destroy people's lives, they just enforce council fucked up policies on others. Difference is only in scale of shit they do.

Cyber toilet flushed. I can see that leaving this forum months ago was good decision.

Then fuck off to anti-politics or crimethinc, nobody is forcing you to post here or throw silly threats about mate.

3 January, 2008 - 00:13

The social role of parking attendents is important to you in whether or not you support their strike, seriously?

4 January, 2008 - 10:57

Strike action planned for Saturday (5th Jan) suspended

No, people can't just park wherever they want because that causes traffic chaos and is dangerous. It's a necessary job right now.

If you don't support groups of workers in struggle then you're right, this forum isn't for you. Have fun threatening people from your computer screen instead, that will advance the class struggle roll eyes

So you wouldn't support striking till operators in tescos? - after all "they be chargn us for R foodz!"
or bus drivers that take fares? - they charge us for our travel

Parking attendents - charge us for our parking

Where's the impoprtant distinction you see? Cos I don't see one. Seriously, this is mental.

Every transaction is based on the implied threat of violence, capitalists have vast armys of cops and soldiers to protect private property. Every till operator is just a soft cop who attempts to normalise the inherent violence of capital by smiling and wishing you a good day.

grin

8 January, 2008 - 19:20

I used to work on a till!
I used to BE the enemy!

8 January, 2008 - 19:29

most prols know the clear concrete difference between someone who works on a till and a lecturer. its class... lefties never do btw

It terms of building a revolution, and not playing up to an idealised notion of the proletariat, what exactly is the difference, social capital? mobility?
