ALL ARE FRIENDS AGAIN IN THE HAPPY WORLD OF ANARCHIES!

There seems to be three types of people in the EDL: the hardcore Nazis, the football hooligans who just want a fight, and the naive nationalists who while they are nationalists haven't realised that nationalism is in fact a form of prejudice and also genuinely believe the sole purpose of the EDL is to oppose the violent and fundamentalist strands of Islam (a lot of this last category are probably in denial about what goes on at EDL marches)

Arthur: for the record, I don't think naivety is something to be ashamed of, its a product of human fallibility to which we're all subject. Don't be offended by the implication that you're naive. I'm sure I am too in many ways.

Quote:
The funding of the [fundies] comes mainly from the Saudis, so when we get round to a demo outside their embassy, how can the UAF and other anti fascists groups oppose that. What excuse will they come up with.

Then why not start with a demo outside the Saudi embassy and then stick with demos outside the Saudi embassy?
(editor's note: radical = supporter of human emancipation, not fundamentalist bigot. It doesn't apply to supporters of Sharia law, they are the opposite of radical)

Radical just means someone who wants to change society from the roots. Doesn't dictate which way they want it changed.

I always thought a radical was just someone with extreme political views, of any variety. As such this would include both Muslim fanatics and anarchies.

Also, can people please cotton on that the OP has left the thread?

Arthur what do you think are the problems which turn working class comrades away from working for their fellow proleteriat, and instead for the will of their bourgeoisie masters?

Because they have been bribed and then divided into different communities with no common values or aims.

Because those in the labour movement have sold their principles in return for lining their pockets. Unions no longer strike or take action on behalf of others, they only take action on behalf of themselves.

Having lost that unity, you gave away any idea that there could be a general strike and with it a great deal of power, the power to change things.

OK - some of us would tend to agree with a lot of that, though maybe not quite the wording.

I am all for a compassionate society and I actualy have a great deal of sympathy with the working classes because I am working class.

My father and his family were miners and steel workers and fought teeth and nail on behalf of the workers, many of my family fought along side Joe Gormly and Arthur Scargil.

I could talk to you about John Golan, Jack Dash or Lou Lewis, Manny Shinwell or even Monty Goldman.

So no it's not a lovefest because I don't believe this is the way forward anymore.

I do have views outside of EDL and when I was younger I had a different opinion to the one I hold now.

I don't have to play games, there's no gain in it.

Arthur, this is the way i look at it: The nation that you call "England" isn't a nation of Englishmen, all it is, is the oppression of one form of people over another. The working class are getting fucked on, but i don't think blaming it on others is the way forward.

Yes Sharia Law sucks dick, but you do have racists within the EDL who are just as fucking worse.

Why is this no longer the way forward, what are the merits of what the EDL are fighting for and how will this actually benefit the working class?

"Any one caught giving nazi salutes at any of our demos is dealt with in no uncertain terms."

Bollocks, I've never seen ANY evidence of this "dealing" with. In fact, quite the opposite is true.

You join the forum and you accept our aims, which are to unite on the one issue, to fight extreme Islam and Shari'ah law and you agree to leave your party politics at home.

I have to say that it is not my intention on here to recruit for the EDL, only to explain that we are not racist nazis and not anti moderate muslims.

I don't think you are serious about joining, but all are welcome.

I fail to see how anything the EDL do will benefit us, if anything it will make things worse.

You wouldn't see it as it is sorted in private, EDL cannot be seen to be 'sorting' in public. If you see what I mean.

So you don't people to see you dealing with fascists, you'd rather they were visibly part of the edl?
Why's that? are you afraid your demos wouldn't be so well attended if fascists felt unwelcome?

And why not?
If one of my group started being a knob at a demo I'd sort them out there and then.

The image given to us by the media is bad enough as it is without adding flames to the fire by disciplining some one in front of them.

WE care about our image, we try to undo this image of racism. It's out of time, out of date, the idea that an anglo saxon England can be some how brought back is just not feasible.

We are the new non racist nationalist/ patriots.

Arthur.

Go away, Arthur, EDL has shown what you are, I doubt people need a liar like yourself telling lies. You've had your rope, you've hanged yourself with it, see you on the streets with your pissed up hooligans mates.
