did anybody thought ,to internationalise the movement(beside the net),since it obviously is an international problem(capitalism).

Il n'y a que ceux qui se sont "déconvertis", après l'avoir vécu de l'intérieur, qui peuvent ressentir, a posteriori, le caractère néfaste des religions pour l'individu : l'étouffement, l'aliénation, la soumission, la résignation, la léthargie intellectuelle….

.....Au niveau collectif, il n'y a qu'à regarder autour soi et dans les livres d'histoire : guerres , inquisition, fanatisme, intolérance,inquisition, frein au progrès(social), confiscation du pouvoir politique…

et encore c'est modeste

et on ne parlera pas de la bourse, le temple de l'illusion,de la sacrosainte economie,et de tous ceux sacrifie(e)s sous l'autel du profit,ou de la croissance infini,..... y'a ses prophetes ,ses detracteurs,ses acteur silencieux alienes au point de payer des intermediaire pour leur trouver du boulot..... ouais et tous ca parceque,nos ainés n'ont pas sus prendre leur responsabilités

dans notre monde qui se meure,il y en a qui y croient encore,

Reziztencia...deux ans apres les prises de bourses...intercoo...(2025) la lutte continue

enfin un espoir est ne,la chronique d'une mort annoncee,celle du vieux monde...."

Dans ce mouvement, la révolte n'est pas feinte, ni tout à fait encadrée. Des actions non-symboliques, comme le bloquage des routes et des gares, se multiplient, ainsi que les affrontements durant les manifestations.

Pourtant, il nous paraît impossible de nous contenter de manifester comme nous l'avons fait jusqu'à présent. D'abord, parce que nous revenons toujours frustrés de ces défilés où nos déplacement sont contrôlés, où les orginisateurs voudraient nous disperser à l'heure dite. Ensuite parce que ces manifestations sont dangereuses pour tout le monde, la police et les syndicats se mettent d'accord sur le parcours et surtout sur le fait de finir dans un cul de sac, dans un nasse pour faire du chiffre ENSEMBLE, pour interpeller le plus possible parmi ceux qui refusent de se disperser et d'attendre la prochaine "journée d'action". Au cours des 4 derniers défilés, ce sont près de 1 300 interpellations qui ont eu lieu. Rien que lors de la manifestation du 28 mars, où la collaboration entre la police et les services d'ordre des snydicats nous a été présentée comme optimale, ce sibt 600 manifestants qui ont été arrêtés.

But ppl are right; if this 'one day general strike' (??wtf??) thing continues, protestors will wear out quite soon. Ok, youwe had a test run on the 28, youve send your message, and they still dont care. So, dont make these stop tomorrow, make it a proper general strike, and dont compromise; disrupt the economy, longer; maybe that will hurt enough..

Have there been any reports of confrontations between police and protestors or any property destruction?

I'm also having a really hard time figuring out what the French far Left's position has been on the whole thing--particularly among anarchists. anyone know or, baring that, know any resources, French or English, where I could figure this out?

well the CNT are anarcho-syndicalists and a statement by them is here. I don't know if 'the french far left' or even the anarchists are coherent enough to have a 'position' though - a lot of the stuff reported on the blog seems fairly autonomous from organised politicos of the commie and anarcho variety.

I lef the place d'Italie where clashes where going on. Strong police charges with a lot of arrestations, in the main streets of the area, i saw tens of police and gendarmerie cars with equiped cops driving fast near place d'Italie. I just have a friend of mine on the phone, and the situation is now more "calm".

Cops have new tactics since last week demonstration a lot of them - divided in groups of ten to fifty - are wearing civilian clothes and unions or parties badges - like demonstrators - and they charge by surprise in the flancs of rioters. So next struggle will be for the release of tens that have been catch today...

People are calling for "wild demonstrations" this night in the north of Paris (18e, Pigalle...), so we will see.

These aren't recruiting tendencies/organisations though, and are more ultra-left than 'far-left' (which to me means Trot) or anarchist.

The WSWS site will have some stuff in English, and I assume they have a French section, dunno what their French section is/how big etc.

The big Trotskyist groups like Lutte Ouvriere and YCL (?) seem pretty much sidelined - although I'm sure they're well represented in UNEF etc.

what is needed now is a massive general strike that lasts some days, they dont have to be much, and at the same time, but at night there needs to be generalized wild demonstrations!! the angry is rizing amongst the students and we cant take this untill the easter so the students need to joing the "casseurs" and unleash heel in paris by disrupting streets, invading public buildings, not only schools and doing the so called flash mobs!!

Well, as far as i know, the WSWS section is insignifiant, a few people. For Big trotskyst groups, Lutte ouvrière militants are active on the "worker side" of the movment, in the main unions (CGT and FO), but they look (it's my own opinion of course), a little be "cold" or on "expectation". On the other hand, the second main trotskyst group, the LCR, is also active in unions (CGT and Solidaires) and they have militants in the youth movement (National student coordination, and in some highschools), they appears as more "motivated".

The anarcho-syndicalists are doning their job, their activity depends on their local strong (for exemple, in Lyon, the CNT corner of the demonstrations is stronger than CFDT, CFTC, two national main unions). And on the "rioter side", i thing the majority are just "angry/motivated people", naturely you can see far left or anarchist and autonomus people with them, but a lot of them are just people which are getting tired of police violence (a half an hour spent with their f*** tear gas and charges, and you just naturely take a stone and throw it on cops...) and social violence (from governement and bourgeoisie), with in some occasions, gangs from the banlieue.

Ok, admittedly I am confused by this whole thing, and I'm having trouble seeing it from the "union-side". Let me see if I can sum up. First off, I live in Pennsylvania. This has always been a so-called "at will" state. That means my employer can terminate my employment at any time for any reason and at any age - and likewise, I can quit my job at any time. As far as I know, most states in the US have similar laws in place. I am also both an employee and a business owner - if that makes any sense. When I look at this from the point of view of an employee, I guess I can understand that folks in France don't want to be able to be terminated. I guess it sucks to be terminated...I don't know..I've never been fired (knock on wood). I don't know anyone who is unemployed not by choice and other then the people that I have had to let go of over the years, I can't think of anyone who has been fired either, but I'm sure there are a few around. I just entered my thirties, I have lived in a "college town" most of my adult life, and no I have never felt disposable - even when I worked in retail.

On the other hand, as a business owner, after seeing all of this, well I can tell you I would never start a business in France. When did it become the government's job to get into my business (no pun intended)? I can't imagine not being able to fire someone at will. What happens if the person can't do the job? What happens if the person doesn't fit into the culture of the company? What happens if finances don't go as planned and I need to get rid of the person to save cash? What happens if the person is just a real ass and is disrespectful to everyone around him or her? What happens if the job description changes? And, assuming that I finally am able to fire someone, does it become a big court battle to do so? What entrepreneur in their right mind would go to France to start a company, and what established company would want to stay there and be uncompetitive with the rest of the world? In a large company with an office in France, I would probably let my French workers go through attrition, hire no one new, and then turn out the lights for good when the last worker finally leaves. It just seems like far too much risk. No wonder the unemployment rate is so high.

Incidentally, I was in a legal/tax training meeting the other week. At the meeting the idea of hiring people in Europe came up. The statement from the instructor was: be careful, once you hire them you are stuck with them. Ouch! Say what you like, but as long as these unions have such a strangle hold on the economy, this is the way that business owners are going to see it. Instead of the "us-vs-them" mentality that these unions/students seem to have, perhaps they should try to do what I am trying to do: see it from the other side.

Your 'see it from the other side' concept relies on the notion that there needs to be another side, or sides at all. 'Seeing it from the other side' is still inevitably an 'us and them' situation because there are still employees and employers.

That is assuming that bosses have feelings in this matter. This isn't about feelings - it is about jobs. Like it or not, your so-called "bosses" are the ones with a stable of jobs. If you can't let go of someone at will, your stable is going to be very small and you are going to be damn careful about who you let into your stable. In other words, you are going to be less likely to take a chance on someone because you are stuck with them. That's just human nature.

In my experience, again from both sides, you are correct. In the companies that I have been with, it has always had the family feel. It wasn't about sides. What has made this about sides are these unions. I think about it every time I here these students say: we will feel disposable if we can be fired. Well personally, I would rather feel little disposable and put food on the table, then feel a lot jobless. The unions have successfully made this into an us-versus-them fight, where it shouldn't be. It should be that you are proud to be the best person for the job, and if you're not the best person for the job, you should be let go...period, end of story. Likewise, if you are working for a company that is not the best fit for you, you should leave and find work elsewhere....period, end of story.

And in terms of your thought about some utopian society that has no employers...ok, don't expect to have anything beyond the barest necessities because anything more then that will take some level of organization to implement. Forget your iPods...forget your Internet...and good luck building anything substantial. Do you realize how many unmotivated people there are in the world? Once you have some level of organization...and some leadership to get something done, then guess what you end up with: bosses.

Have you ever been a boss? Try it. It really isn't that bad. Or, if you think that your utopian society would work, have a go. Start a company and hire people with the same thoughts as you. I really would love to see it work. I honestly would. Just because I am a capitalist does not mean that I feel it is the only way - as I am also a liberal in many ways. For the highly motivated, I just tend to think it is the best way.
