Some Google worker is having a laugh - do a search for 'Failure' and the biography of George Bush is top of the list. (Michael Moore is not far behind, presumably for different reasons.)
You had to click it to see what it was, though.
Michael moore must be a Republican revenge bombing...
A quick google for 'liar' shows what the political activity of liberals everywhere has amounted to since the Iraq marches
yeah, they must have been sticking a standardised link on all their sites
Thanks for the education.
Very true.
Thanks for that handy tip for any posters here who have their own website.
okay, sorry for being a bit dim, but what does this actually entail? if we wanted a site, say, the IWW education workers's site (oh, it just so happens that i run it!
) to get high up a google list, for googling the phrase 'education workers', how would you do it?
just out of interest, of course...
actually, scrap that, it seems to be pretty high up on google lists anyway. go me
it would require lots of other sites to link to you using that phrase i think

The top few hits are all anarchists apart from the WEA which at least counts as a fellow traveller if you squint and pretend it's still the fifties.

What's the WEA history?
My old man works for them, he reckons it's pretty much winding up.
What's the WEA history?
Sorry, only just clocked this.
The WEA were never particularly self-organised or anything, it was always a kind of Fabian thing of teaching the masses, but there was interesting work done by several groups on critiquing mass media and rediscovering working class history. A lot of it went into Raymond Williams's work, especially Culture and Society, and EP Thompson's stuff. As such the WEA was quite important in getting past the Frankfurt school bullshit of brainwashed workers and dealing with how people really engage with the media.
As I say, you have to squint a bit, but they were pretty good at one time.

That's the impression I got, which is a shame because I quite fancied working for them.
Actually, just looked at the website and they're getting an application form from me as soon as I get time to fill one out.
wellim not sure. but I use google adsense and stuff. and i rea someplace in there that the googlebots searches ur site for relevance and keywords.
you could put a massive amount of keywords, hidden like invisible text.. another way is if u got a forum. which the bots scans.. alot of posting will ensure better rating but ofcourse it would always on relevance to the search and so on.. I presume u have madea description of the site.. and meta tags on each html document on the site.. that helps the bots and improves indexing of the site on search engines DB.
