Could well be, but don't worry we are too handsome for filming (it's distracts attention)as you will notice i didn't appear in the above footage.
or maybe it's the glare from our shiny foreheads.
i might not be able to make it tonight
, but if i can i will probaly be late, so i will ring you later to let you know.
thats a pretty good video; who made it? can it be posted in libcom news?
who involved are restecp?
This is all i know
We are making a documentary about the two week campaign against the cleaning company ISS, a ruthless and immoral cleaning company that refuses to negotiate with the union the cleaners have formed with the Transport & General Workers Union. This is a 90 second clip that Ross Curan, one of the film makers had made and put on You Tube. Please forward on. Follow this link the the clip and come out and support us!

As for respect, AFAIK it was just two people who came along to support the cleaners, the next day there were more banners (on both these days a Red&black flag was flown)
Just to say: there was a really good action at Goldman Sachs (who own ISS) this lunchtime... with a sit in in the lobby, and a demo outsie. They're obviously really feeling the heat, and it looks like they may even settle before the day is out.
Police and security quite seriously mishandled some journalists and I think (not sure) that someone's camera got broken.
There was some RESPECT outside, at the demo, but none at the sit in - which was mostly T&G full timers, cleaners, a good body of supporters from personal contacts and a few trots and labour left types. No libcommers there that I recognised (but equally I might not have recognised if there were...).
Do you reckon they'll be filming tonight?
I was going to go to that Goldman Sachs thing at the swanky restaurant.
Actually the thing at the swanky restaurant was last night.
If only someone would invent a kind of notebook that had days of the week in it. They could call it a "diary" or something like that.

Good work, will be following this. I remember ISS in Norway also treated their workers like shite. I was a janitor in this office block and the ISS cleaners there were constantly heckled by the office workers for not cleaning. However, the ISS cleaners were basically doing double to triple the work, which they obviously couldn't. They got shit from their managers and at their work place. And they were paid shite as well. I talked to them about organizing but most of them were immigrants that were just too happy to have a job in the first place so they did not want to complain.
ISS, bunch of fuckers.

again i did publicise the riught dates originally.
Tell me about it... the barrage of conflicting and late information has been well confusing. Still, it appears to be working alright!

the important thing to do is to get a few people's numbers straight off - which ppl are often to shy to do. Then you can call as well as send an email, to ask if they have got the message. This is always more effective.
If they feel like they are being pressured to turn up, well balls, they can say no. But probably won't
ah the english psyche
hey, button if it makes you feel any better i thought it was tonight :opps:
In general the actions are subject to change at the last moment, that's why Anita mo no. was posted in orginal post.
Anita has gone back to Australia now, apparently. Anyone got another contact #?

Lucky I posted, eh?
Otherwise you'd have turned up on the wrong night, masked up, & burst into a swanky restaurant.
Not that you'd do that sort of thing, obviously.

She didn't mention that last week, family emergency perhaps.
Edit: i just remembered i got an e-mail yesterday from Anita about the mdday demo. I'm even more confused now.
ok - so I have another couple of contact numbers for the organising team now, if people PM me, I'll pass 'em on.
Hunger strike outside RBS Bishopsgate starting Monday:
edit: catch, none of the super-long links, hey?
Not so sure about this stunt, the workers as passive victims, playing on xmas 'goodwill to all men' etc. i wonder how much this has to with the lower numbers turning out for the demos and a sense of tiredness amongst those who did (welll by weds the last one i was on outside RBS that was my impression)the organisers i talked to were concerned about maintaining momemtum. Having a media freindly 'fast' requires far less numbers and energy. Having said all thet, i no doubt will be going on the support demoes.
Yeah I'm not sure about it AT ALL. There were some cleaners on hunger strike at a US university earlier this year, wasn't sure about that either.
I had forgotten about that. So they are just regurgitating what happened in the states, figures.
Hi everyoneLancaster have signed! This is because of all your hard work and support so a big thank you to everyone. Obviously there is no longer a need to fast outside Lancaster-cleaned RBS, but the campaign is not over. We need to make sure every company signs up to the agreement and we will move straight on to the next contractors. We still need your help! Please meet at 12:30 on Monday at Transport House, 128 Theobalds Road, nr Holborn Station.
Please distribute this news widely. It's important everyone knows why the fast will no longer be taking place and what action replaces it. We need to keep building to make sure ALL cleaners in London receive a living wage, holiday/sick pay, pension and union rights, regardless of which company they work for.
in solidarity
