Meta: where do you get your news?

Submitted by autogestión on December 16, 2019

We all undoubtedly subscribe to political blogs or follow people on twitter, or subscribe journals or magazines. But where do you get your general, daily news? I ask because I'm sick of The Guardian and the Independent (I'm UK base). The Mirror recently seemed a little better - I mean, its less self-consciously high-brow, but I can live with that.

Any other tips?

(It seems highly likely there is already a thread on this, but I didn't find one. If you know of one, link to it and I'll then ask for this thread to be closed.)

I watch AlJazeera and RT although they push an agenda they have some great Documentaries and lively debates.I watch Channel 4 news but Sky/BBC are rubbish and parrot
Fox/Sky in America.

I also get mine from this forum. It's a lot more valid than other so-called news websites.

For daily news:
http://www.antiwar.com , http://www.wsws.org/en/?view=mobilehome , http://mondoweiss.net , Al Jazeera, Reuters.

The benefit of using the Septics' page for mobile phones is in not needing to look at pictures of their Saint Leon the Butcher.

(This 'Septic' is not the cockney rhyming slang but refers to ICFI's ubiquitous 'Socialist Equality Party'. The relation to tank [ --> tankie] is a happy coincidence. )

Radio 4, Twitter and The Guardian. I have an ongoing nagging awareness that these sources are pretty woefully inadequate.
