New Anarchist discussion forum- Anarchist Black Cat

Submitted by Bobby on 6 February, 2008 - 23:19.

Ever wished for an anarchist discussion board dominated by an exchange of argued
out political views rather than insults? So did we, so we decided to do
something about it. --- Inspired by the Organise discussion list of the mid
1990s (the first serious anarchist discussion list) and Anarkismo.net, we have
launched AnarchistBlackCat. We are building a home for serious anarchist
discussion and strong moderation of anything that falls below this according to
a set of detailed, transparent and publicly available rules. --- Got something
to say?
Come on over to http://www.anarchistblackcat.org --- Posting rules at

Please, it's been posted to MySpace. It's already screwed.

Sounds dull but as long as we do't have to read your particularly pathetic attempts at ''argued out political views'' on here anymore i'm all for it.

I've made my choice.

To be clear on this we are neither asking nor insisting that people make some sort of choice.

Its pretty clear to me that people have preferences for different styles of discussion and also expect boards to fill different needs. Some may find one suits them so much over the other that they only use one but I suspect a lot of people will end up (and indeed probably already are) regularly looking at several boards.

7 February, 2008 - 18:13

What Joe said. I'll be looking at both, especially if any of those Italian FdCA lot will be writing in English. Fuck I love Italians smile Anyway, good luck with the project and would be good to collaborate where we can imo..

I just published the entire statement which i did not personally write.

7 February, 2008 - 18:29

Not that i don't neccesarily disagree with the statement. Libcom maybe alot of things but anarchist black cat seems to be too narrow in range.

Pretty much - at least in regard to political forums

But only one of them is a political forum.

Which one? groucho

9 February, 2008 - 08:56

Whichever one you want, baby.

9 February, 2008 - 19:34

I think it'd be odd to try to compare the two sites. Libcom has a wonderful library and has a more openly defined politics with corresponding involvement across the political spectrum. Anarchistblackcat is more focused discussions (or at least the ones I care for).

11 February, 2008 - 14:29

The infoshop reaction is pretty amusing (libcom gets a special mention among the rant)

11 February, 2008 - 15:08

I like 'em both.

It was the first commented article in the tracker in the right hand column when I checked an hour ago, title started with 'Announcing' but I think it can only be a page or so in anyway as it only went up yesterday

11 February, 2008 - 16:01

I love how Chuck0 mentions all of the reasons I'm staying in his rant against Black Cat, things like rants against consensus, crimethinc and lifestylism.

11 February, 2008 - 16:09

found the post on infoshop news, that one? Ha! We get it well worse than y'all.

11 February, 2008 - 17:44

I wonder how long before Chuck0 starts editing comments and banning folks. That discussion is classic.

11 February, 2008 - 18:22

MJ:

Oh my eye-balls are falling out.

11 February, 2008 - 18:29

Try to start board wars? Not very serious sad

11 February, 2008 - 18:47

Who the fuck donates money to infoshop?

11 February, 2008 - 18:49

Anarchists, presumably.
