I've got a french source on this, might be a translation of yours, apparently there's been a person killed in the demos.

Yep...La Jornada doesn't state who it was though. The cops are accusing the blockaders of stoning buses...

They probably were stoning buses. I know this happened in Cuzco recently. (Although those were tourist buses, which is a bit different.) Anyway, this seems somewhat more intense than usual but probably this same thing will came out of it. (Nothing.) Last summer when a bunch of miners went on strike and blockaded the roads they killed a couple cops with rocks. But that was fairly isolated I think, this seems fairly spread out.

Looks like it has died down, at least in Huamanga.

And Alan Garcia gave a law and order speech. Apparently the demonstrators are Senderistas (and worse!)

Eso es casi senderismo. ¿Quién nos garantiza que no están los senderistas detrás de todo esto?¿ quién nos garantiza que no hay manos extranjeras detrás de eso?...
