There's actually, since several weeks, an ongoing struggle in France against the actual attacks and cuts in education public sector.
The government decided a 11800 job cut in eduction public sector next year, aiming to reach 85000 in 5 years, which mean lowering the number of teacher and educationnal worker of 25%. The governement is also attacking the public workers statuses and willing to impose more overtime. Meanwhile, the job cuts are concentrated in working class area, which explained that the struggle started in Paris' "grande banlieue", mainly Seaine Saint Denis, Val de Marne, Seine et Marne, Essone, Yveline, Val D'oise, in the places where 2005 riots were in their highest intensity.
There is also a specific attack on professionnal schools aming to suppress an intermediate diploma, and a year of school to get to professionnal graduation, which is aiming to lower workers professionnal qualification, which will also end up in lowering workers wages (as they are the basis of coolective agreement on wages in french employment code).
This movement is growing up each weeks until know, associating teachers days of strike in the paris region and big demos in Paris (with a lot of high scchol student, mainly from working class neigborhood), but also blockades and occupation of high schools by students, teachers and parents. It's also starting to reach other parts of the country, as last tuesday a 40000 strong demo happened in Paris.
High school students are facing police repression as they proceed to blockades and other type of direct actions.
