Over only around 10% of workers are unionised, which is a pretty low figure, although they are disproportionately represented in state and key industries. Workers often wildcat with support of unio structures and rank and file, but recently the top brass have been selling out workers left right and centre.

Even FO have been at it, signing the new employment law reform (probably in a desperate attempt to hold onto their anachronistic favoured status as one of the large unions) that the CGT refused. I would write up the law but it'd take ages and no one would read it; gist of it employment rights are weakened.

In spite of this 47% of respondents said unions did their work well as opposed to 49% saying they did it badly with 4% eclining a response.

Obviously a shit survey, but interesting to see as hih a figure as 47% for the unions, especially with a series of recent defeats and sellouts.
