“Obama breaks with controversial church”
In yet another manufactured pseudo-event communicated to the masses of people in the typical over-faciliated way, the leading power-eater on the demo-crap left and his “opponent” prick cain, slayer of able bodied men on the fascist right, officially declared themselves to have broken ties with the churches they once submissively gave untaxable donations to. But religious ties are the ties that bind blood-drawingly deep (and not just the way the fascist-loving Opus Dei freaks of Spanish Civil War fame do to themselves) — religion “guides” all the world’s so-called representatives in power. Like a prayer petitioning the great dictator in the sky to make pigs suddenly fly, one supposedly has a voice in the economic and political system through them; but if you’d believe that, then even a particular politician’s preference in such fairy-tales as religion would be important.
if their illusions of impartiality were to be taken seriously we would have separation of church and state, capital and state, family and state, gender and state, color and class from state, etc… of course such a desirable chain of events would really be no more than the dismemberment and destruction of the state itself. But after all, a mere impartial execution of laws, cold and contrived, and based on a pretentious, pompous application of precedents and abstractions to human individuals in their lives, though it characterizes our society and the various gods that lead it by the nose, is not in itself actually a very attractive approach to life. Instead of asking, in which church does that politician get fleeced like the sheep he is, we should ask, what is this churchly slaughterhouse we’re operating here? what are we doing to the planet, to thought, to life itself with our god-addictions, our power-addictions, our money-addictions? only destroying it very ever so sanctimoniously. how long will we have to be subjected to the trifling garbage these politician/priests blather about? how long until we implode?
Tens of thousands of striking council workers disrupted public services across Scotland today while Scottish civil servants also struck for their own pay dispute.
First issue of an irregular workers' bulletin put together by users of the website, libcom.org. This issue focuses on the 2008 pay dispute over sub-inflation pay offers.
