Heh.
What is your favorite Duke Aaron quote?

Damn Baltimore sounds like a suck-ass city, for all kinds of reasons. My kind of town, obviously.
Bah, sounds exactly like people said would happen when I tell them I'm going to Gary, Detroit, St. Louis, Chicago.
No. It really is bad. Worse than Detroit. I could hook you up with a local to make it go smooth though.
You have video and stills of some of your more interesting stuff? I was thinking of doing an urban exploration promo thingy a couple of weeks ago and I'm off work for a bit right now.
So I've heard. Well, the bad part. I know little that could look worse or have crime rates beyond those of East. St. Louis, Detroit, or Gary. So when I hear about Baltimore, Camden, Newark, etc. I pretty much know what they mean and can understand their fears, but then again I'm also not some white-bread cracker born and raised in the white-bread 'burbs like a lot of my fellow explorers seem to be. And I'm used to solo exploring the worst places around here. So maybe I'm a bit jaded.
I actually know a few people out east, explorer-wise, I've been meaning to head out there. I was consider heading to Mass. in two weeks to get drunk in a mansion with some people and see some stuff out there and in Cleveland and Buffalo along the way but money and work and my uncertainty about my car surviving 14 hours on the road will probably keep me within four hours of Chicago instead. Fuck.
I really judge places in comparison to what I've seen and been through myself. 50% or more of the houses in an area abandoned? Obviously insane people screaming at the top of their lungs for no reason? Scrappers? Crack-heads? Lots filled with trash and stripped cars? Thugged-out guys sitting on front porchs and street corners and the middle of the streeet? Etc. I'd usually go out with a local anyway when I roll through a city I don't know, mostly just out of the simple fact that I've no idea what the lay-out and major streets and neighborhoods are in the area. Baltimore I wanted to see this year, just because there's a bunch of people I'd like to meet IRL.
As for the video and stills: I have no videos of my own but I definitely know people who do.
Stills: Pretty much what you've seen on my blog are what I got as far as the best quality stuff is concerned. I've still got a bunch of different places I've yet to put up though. I'm still putting up stuff I did over two months ago.

I want to work with video spliced with stills.
Anyway... if you get two western mass the old northampton mental hospital is pretty fun or was 10 years ago at least. There're also a lot of good shut down factories and plants that should get seen before they convert them to yuppie condos.
I could look around for some videos. How much ya want? I know that there's plenty around but I dunno about what content you're looking for. Most of the stuff we've got is just people running around through places.
Yeah, it seems like there's endless mental hospitals out there in Mass, Conn, NY. I'll definitely keep that one in mind. The one out in Danvers was the one everybody was hot about but then they ended that. Poo.
Ugh, yuppie condos, don't remind me. They're turning the old Pabst brewery in Milwaukee into condos. I have to get up there before they start that. Maybe tomorrow?

When I was a freelance journalist I had to cover these guys who were converting an old Easthampton MA factory into condos, lofts and shops. So I found out it was infested with heavy metals, asbestos, benzene and a ton of other stuff. The publisher of the magazine took my story to the owners and it never got published and the magazine got a huge new ad account. Heh Unfortunately I had signed a kill fee contract so I didn't own the story even though it didn't get published. He did pay me double what I woul;d've gotten if it'd gone to print though.
I'd like video thats shot black n white with some even camera work as well as some video of crazy running through buildings. To splice in different places. Most of the stuff I've seen is shot too dark though. Not worth the effort of using. I only need like 3 or 4 total minutes of good camera work though. That shouldn't be hard should it?
the east river offers lots for your urban exploration needs. the ruined mental hospital on roosevelt island will not be turned into condos anytime soon and getting there requires the tram, on which you might get stuck dangling for 11 hours. not to be missed.
when a lad one of my buds was a subway nut and we got into places now quite off limits - the warren beneath the waldorf, city hall station, etc. great stuff.

I used to do deliveries on roosevelt island. That place is creepy enough above ground in daylight.

This reminds me: I just recently figured out that the dude who runs one of the main "urban exploration" websites is a White Revolution dude from MA.

Which website? I think I know who you're talking about.

Hmm... well, the amount of time it took me to find it again makes me realize that it's hardly one of the "main" ones, just one of the older New England ones, and a coincidence I'd read it before. So it's probably not whoever you're thinking of.
But check the WHOIS info for IUSSA dot org versus NEWP d ot org.

ahahahahaha, that is Nazi Rob, aka IUSSA aka CreatorRob.
I tangled with that guy on the UER forums a while back, christ like over two years ago. He was banned from UER and Deggi5 forums for the Nazi crap. Here is his profile from UER:

And again under user name IUSSA:

One of his posts as IUSSA (not addressed to me). Dated 10-26-2003:
"aww, poor little punkboy.
I smell a commie.
The only one talking about hate is you. In fact you're so simple minded you can't fathom the idea that I'm the one embracing diversity while you're the one destroying it.
A box of crayons has eight colors. Seperated they are all different, melted together they become one muddy mess . . you call that mess diversity. The only way to maintain diversity is seperation of all races, not by mixing them all together until there are no races left.
6 million more!"
ahahahahaha, that is Nazi Rob, aka IUSSA aka CreatorRob.
We see him around town sometimes.

Here ya go LocustInferno
Here ya go LocustInferno
This thing kicks unbelievable ass. I just posted it to the local explorers board here, I'm waiting to see what the response is.

I posted it to both the private and public boards on there, you'd only be able to see the public one (after you signed up) here under the "Aperture" section:

Eh. Just tell me if they like or not.

Every time I try to think of a Duke Aaron quote, It turns out to be a Pol Pot, or Penochet quote.
