Are AF and solfed going to hold a stall there as well?

University of manchester being the biggest university in UK there really should be an anarchist student group! Preferably one where we members of staff could also take part to wink

haven't really seen this advertised widely yet. I could give a hand in disributing leaflets etc around the campus.

We - the AF - will certainly try to run a stall. The problem is that some of us are at work, so we'll have to sort things out. I'll be there by 4. Others earlier, I guess.

i can see why there is a burning need for another freshers fair. Just walked through the one here at the uni and from what i could see over half of the stalls are just big companies from Loreal to Loyds bank, there are couple cars on display outside and some softdrink companies are giving out freebies.

This was held today.

I helped solfed folks with their stall, and i would say that the day was great at least on the solfed stand - dont know about others. We spoke to many young folks eager to hear about anarchist politics and there were few odd non-students as well who just heard about the fair and decided to tag along, workers from all kinds of industries from call centres to whatever.

Anyways, we shifted loads of material and got quite a few contacts. I hope it was as good for other stalls as well.

Well worth the effort though.

upwards and onwards!

but your ruining the whole point of being a fresher which is to get drunk as a skunk on freebies, be a corporate whore consuming evil shampoo from Loreal and putting your money in a BANK!! and then you get to lie in your own sick for a week.

I remember once choking on part of a biscuit and then eating the rest of the biscuit anyway because there wasn't much food left.

I couldn't make it to the Fair, I was busy sorting some stuff out for my big move.

our survey says free soft drinks and biscuits at freshers fairs are a major source of rehydration and nutrition for students in their first week...

admit it, this alternative freshers fair was just a coverup. the truth is you just hate students grin
