Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. Yes we have an anarchist group in Northampton, it's a branch of the Solidarity Federation www.solfed.org.uk . We work with others in various groups which I suppose you could describe as 'pressure groups' including 'Save Our NHS - Save Our Services' and 'Defend Council Housing'. We also attend meetings of the broader non-sectarian socialist group 'Northampton Socialist Forum', so we may have been among the socialists that you have noticed, and we are currently involved in helping to publicise an initiative to help recently arrived Eastern European workers to organise at work, and some of our members are involved in an anti-militarist group 'Northampton Action for Peace'.
Apart from these campaigns we are involved in solidarity work, eg we picketed Blue Arrow employment agency during the Gate Gourmet strike a while back and are currently doing solidarity work for Karen Reissman the Manchester NHS worker sacked for criticising NHS cuts - if you wanted to do something with us soon you could come with us to Manchester this weekend for the demonstration in support of her, we're going in cars and there will almost certainly be space for you.

I'm looking for information on the pressure groups that are active in Northampton. I'm not bothered by any particular political sway, but looking to see who's active and meeting on a regular basis.
I've noticed the socialists, but heard rumours that there's an anarchist group as well can any one confirm?
