copied from Salt of the Earth discussion: ......Singing ‘Solidarity Forever’ in Samoan a couple of days later at the Blackcurrent Centre were the plantation workers responsible for ‘The Globalisation Tapes’ – Barney and Emma who viewed it reckoned it was the best film we’ve had on for a long time – we agreed that every trade unionist should see this – Trades Council delegates, please consider circulating the tape after next Monday’s meeting! It would be good if somebody would consider reviewing it here on the Forum.

Film showing Thursday 27th April, 7:30pm at the Blackcurrent Centre, 24 St. Michael's Avenue, Northampton (just off Kettering Rd near the Racecourse).
'The Globalisation Tapes' - "Using their own history as a case study, rubber and palm oil plantation workers trace the development of contemporary global capitalism from its roots in colonialism to the present. The Globalisation Tapes expose the devastating role of militarism and repression in building the 'global economy' and explores the relationships between trade, third world debt and international institutions like the IMF and WTO."
