Following the success of Righteous Promo's first metal gig, Godless Promo has been set up to do bimonthly metal benefit gigs in Norwich.

Not a lot on there yet, but will be soon. Hoping to organise the first gigs for September, so don't hold your breath!

Is this really necessary? Can't metal gigs still be organised under Righteous Promotions?

Although, well done in thinking of a name that doesn't make it sound like a Christian organisation tongue .

The metal and punk scenes are pretty distinct (with some crossover). I don't want to confuse people, and don't forget, I've written a book on branding and know my shit wink

Baggins came up with the name, bless his metal face.

I think the average person who goes to gigs regularly might be a little smarter than you give them credit for.

And who the fuck goes to a gig purely because of the promoters? If I see a poster, myspace bulletin or whatever, it's the bands that pull me in. I couldn't give a fuck who the promoter was.

you are such a riley little fucker! punks are interested in punk, metallers are interested in metal - I don't want to be constantly sending stuff around to a load of punks who probably won't be interested. How would you feel if I did jungle nights through Righteous Promo? or all the other punks that don't like jungle? i'm not saying people are thick, i want righteous promo to be synonymous with norwich punk, and godless to be metal. if you knew how well this forum comes up in google, perhaps you would be more careful what you say!

As long as you didn't clutter up my myspace comments section with posters, I honesty couldn't care less.

depends on the size an narure of the scene mate: if we are talking underground punk or metal, its going to be a relatively small affair and the promoter/organiser is just as important if not more important than the acts. It tells you the type of people going, the type of attitude to expect, the type of music etc etc.

I definitely go to a party or gig based on the promoter/organiser, poissonally smile

PS and its about shamelessly raising the brand value of local anarchism wink

I don't know you and was in norwich only to catch a train to Yarmouth, but i'd be deeply dissapointed.

Jungle is awful.
