New meeting venue needed.

Submitted by Norwicher on 7 November, 2005 - 16:09.

I've just been told a new venue is needed as the pub is now shut at 7 o'clock and the resident 'bouncer' who used to live there has moved out.

Any suggestions?

What kind of pub is shut at 7 o'clock?eek

Cant we still use it anyway? Last time it was shut, but we were let in for our meeting.

Whats the name of the pub round the corner where we have ABC meetings? That would be a good venue. Usually seems fairly quiet and if we can have ABC meetings in there, we can have Norwich Anarchist meetings in there.

We used to have meetings in there, but moved as it didn't work being in a pub, rather than a private room seperate from the other drinkers etc.

I was actually gonna raise this at the next meeting anyway as some people have expressed a dislike for that pub anyway (due to personal reasons which was stopping them coming to meetings, so I guess this is kind of a positive thing as it's forced us to do something about it!

I do think this needs to be the last time we move our meetings though, as we've already done so a few times, so lets make sure we find somewhere really ideal! I reckon a (private) room in a pub (preferably central) that doesn't mind us advertising the fact we're there if we want to would be perfect.

All stinker says is true...

How about Ribs of Beef? - they have a room downstairs I think we may be able to use. (it's where Norwich Science Fiction Group meet). Next time I'm in the area I'll ask.

Wow I've just discovered the Forums! So this is where you've all been hiding!

The next meeting - can we be in the vine or do we have to find somewhere before the 13th? We were in the Kings Head the other night and that was cool and possibly a good meeting place. But a seperate room might be good so perhaps we could try the ribs of beef or possibly a local community centre???

The Vine is shut on Sundays so very unlikely there'll be anyone there.

Any one got any ideas yet? Any news on The Ribs of Beef? I think after the last meeting we can count out having them in a pub for sure, it was a quiet sunday night and it was still too noisy!

Yeah, obviously we need a decent new venue, however we do need to be sure that we're having one that we can use for the foreseable future as chopping and changing is not doing us any favours. Until we get a venue that suits us I suggest we keep meeting in the pub we had our last meeting at.
