Thought I'd start this thread to cover all people's thoughts on public discussions that we planned to do at the meeting last night.
First up: Poverty in Britain for Late April, to be arranged by Garthscrape.
I think we should also organise another few in parallel, with different people taking on organising each one. I propose to do one in June sometime. We need to think about the format - speakers/videos/timing etc. I'm kind of against videos because people often just come for a video and just leave (and lets face it most anarcho videos are pretty crap). I think if we shop around and look at similar things done by other groups in Norwich and see what's working, might be a good place to start.
We could do one on the green party, haha!
But no seriously we could do "can parlimentary politics save the planet" or "why parlimentary politics can't save the planet".
Would take a lot of planning tho! I'll start now!
A clearly written essay on Lukacs, Marx and philosophy, the commodity form, Marxism(s), market 'socialism', the critique of political economy versus 'Marxist' economics etc...
