Hi all, and welcome to the Oceania anarchist forum on libcom.org, part of the libcom.org forums. If you've just registered or are from the Oceanic countries, please drop in here and say hi.

If you're an anarchist completely new to the anarchist scene in Oceania, why not also take the time to check out:

aus climate camp - re-questionaire

Hi, given the first australian climate camp has just occured i thought the questionaire below could be something of interest for us. i've slightly editted with apols to si for our context. i have the impression that more liberalism dominates the aus version but would be interested to hear otherwise or if and what potential is there or not.

Black Listing in Farming Industry (NZ)

Heard on the radio today an ad for a new organisation set up that farmers can report troublesome workers to. 'In an attempt to clean up the industry, from "troublesome workers" ...'

trucker fuel protests

Hi,

So trucker protests over fuel have come to aus. Much discussion on other libcom forums about the class composition and possibilities or limits of such action in other countries.

Are these truckers petit-bourgeoise owner-operators, what if any potential is there ?
or are they a harbringer of a mad max world

5 Australian Greens in the Senate

5 Australian Greens in the Senate, a time to celebrate perhaps?

imminent rebellion #9 out now!

imminent rebellion #9 is fresh off the printer! (In fact we're still high off the ink) Weighing in at a staggering 108 pages, imminent rebellion is making a come back after 3 years of hibernation as an irregular anarchist journal from deep in the South Pacific.

Anarchism in New Zealand interview

The following is from Alasbarricadas via A-Infos. I'd agree with much of what Omar has to say, although not all - certainly I think his 200-300 anarchists is an overestimate, certainly if you're referring to people who are actively involved in any way.

ANZAC Day: Occupation Afghanistan and the propaganda system

Thought this feature from Aotearoa Indymedia might be of interest in the build up to ANZAC Day.

slackbastard v mathaba

On April 8, 'alternative news service' Mathaba News Network sent a nasty letter to distribute it, "one of the largest and fastest growing auDA, NZ and ICANN-accredited registrars in Australia". That is, a company which provides, among other services, access to domain names. In this case, anarchobase.com.

Application to list EPMU as third party

What does this actually mean?

For revolutionary struggle, not activism

Below is an article I’ve written for the upcoming issue of Imminent Rebellion, an Aotearoa anarchist journal (formerly a magazine) published by Rebel Press. The general gist of the article is certainly relevant outside of Aotearoa too...Its nothing amazing, most of it was written between 2am and 4:30am.

New AFL season

Thought the start of a new season was a good excuse to make sure everyone has seen this awesome article:-

Anyone else into this? I'm looking forward to watching as much as possible on setanta and eurosport, hoping the young Crows team can fulfil their potential a little early this season!

Solidarity of Cavite Workers

For your information. I thought comrades would be very interested in this. Sharing this information does not mean an endorsement of the aims of the WAC. This is being posted for information purposes, and information purposes only.

The 'sorry'

What do youse lot think of Rudd's apology? (To the 'stolen generation' of Aborigines) All the Australians I've spoken to so far think it was fucking fantastic and that the sun now shines out of his arse, also apparently he's now got the highest approval ratings of anyone ever largely as a result.

ANZAC Day event for 2008

So ANZAC Day is coming up again, and again I will be involved in organizing an event to celebrate the Industrial Workers of the World and their role in defeating concription in World War One. It would be great if Anarchists around Australia could organise a similar event for Anzac Day.

Graffiti, boot camps and the hatred of youth
