As mentioned elsewhere, there must be something in the water around here. Only a matter of weeks ago the MP of our area http://www.peterdutton.com.au/ sent out his "dickson report" little self congratulatory newsletter with a statement/article on the front making mention of those dastardly Muslims ripping us fair dinkum, true blue Australian tax payers off by engaging in tax avoidance schemes. I wish I'd kept it for a direct quote... No mention of rich whiteys here doing their bit of tax avoiding though. For those who don't like surprises, check out his maiden speech in parliament. You betcha.... no surprises.

nah, we only deport middle-class suburban white kids who end up in London drinking too much and turning their accents up to 11 in an attempt to live up to the stupid stereotype. sadly they usually end up back here after a few years.

Never mind. For your information: even Australia's racist minority are pretty much off the case of "Asians" now......Africans and Arabs are the new target of choice. The lovely Pauline was recently taken aback to be informed that she had about 13% Arab ancestry according to genetic testing, or at least so said the daily press, which is never wrong. And even Pauline (like those she represents) is less of a genuine herrenvolk racist than a generalised suburban bigot; hence her celebrated remark that she didn't object to "Christian Muslims" coming to Australia just Muslims......

When her One Nation first appeared it was legitimate to worry that it was the forerunner of a Australin fascist mass-movement, but in retrospect it clearly was not. Just a few whinging ignorant bigots. In Australia fascism at least since the post ww1 secret armies has always been the secret hand of the government rather a rebel popular movement. And so it is now.
