Don't fret about it. Leninists aren't real communists, anyway.
Where did all the commies go?
Well communists like me are still here, but i think the Leninist groups have fallen apart because the social democratic project they were the left wing of (along with anarcho-syndaclists etc) continues to disintegrate due to changes in class composition/neo-liberal modes of rule/it-was-crap-anyway....
Short answer. The commo's have left NZ. It really is such a back-water. The majority population still linger in the colonialist imperative, in that it's establishment takes it's sociological cues from the English middle class. It's disaffected proletariat suck up the imagery and misogynistic music of black america. The lumpens love beating the missus. If you can do a Clockwork Orange - to music - so much the better. The 'affected' proletariat just get pissed or swamp themselves in religious redirection or new age shit. It's a sad society, incapable of any original revolutionary thought.

ha ha. quite a stir, but your views of NZ society (to be honest) remind me of many left-liberal middle class people i have met in NZ who look down upon NZ proles as idiots, violent, authoritarian, misogynist, backward, incapable of radical activity, and unoriginal followers of overseas fashions etc.
but there is a hint of truth in some of your bile. no wonder you left NZ!

Sounds just like Oz.

Heyas. I go to UQ, Brisbane and when I first came here this place was choc-a-bloc full of the International Soc Org (Lenin/Trot), the Democratic Soc party (Stalinist, and Resistance, its youth wing) and the Soc Alternative (Trot), they were present at and tried to dominate every action or demo, etc, as well as constantly in your face selling their shit papers. There were also a few anarchists and a IWW group based around 4ZZZ community radio. Now everyone's gone. The Socialist Alternative is the only group I still see on campus. I think this is a good thing coz the DSP and ISO are losers and I wish SA would go too, but I just don't understand the dynamics of why they dissappeared. I understand why the anarchists don't really exist coz they were so diverse that nothing could ever happen, but has anyone got ideas why all the other commies are going extinct? I didn't witness it happen coz I retreated into my grad studies the last few years. What's it like in your cities?
