Hi there everybody. at the moment i live in the north of england, pretty isolated. originally i was from Burnley and may be moving back to the north west or maybe yorkshire. i've been sympathetic to anarchist ideas and have a friend in manchester who has told me stuff. i've looked round the web but can't always get internet access. i'm going to contact the three groups, anarchist federation, solfed & class war but i wondered about if local anarchist groups have any criteria for joining?

also has anyone any stuff on the northern anarchist network? i seem to have upset them by asking a couple of questions.

NAN seem organised and have a web-board a few of them post on, Michelle seems a reasonable sort.

They seem to mainly based in Manchester, they've got at least one person involved who is mildly delusional according to whom Manchester is the new Barcelona and Freedom have an anti-northern bias*, and there seem to be some problems between them and SolFed?

Web board: http://oogleboogle.proboards23.com/index.cgi#ACTIVISTS

* Actually we're simply a young collective based in London who don't tend to have many contacts up north who send us stories.

There used to be an anarchist in Burnage, South Manchester.

The problem is seanmcheathen is that just like democratic parties all the anarchist groups (not just local but Nationwide) have petty squabbles and arguments which in turn may stop you from getting in touch with anyone twisted

Please stick with it and I promise you you will find some quality people out there who you will remain in contact with for life.

Sean...I noticed that you said you were originally from Burnley...I am too, how old are you? I presume you attended St. Theodore's RC High School, as you mentioned elsewhere that you hated 'priests'!

I am a Catholic, aged 41, wondered if I might have known you, or if you might have been at school with my brother Francis Bruce...Fran, or Franny...who set up the Mudd Club in Burnley in the early 90's and was a former member of Burnley Anarchists during the 70's 'Punk' era...
