Black Flag Update

Black Flag Update

After the successful launch of a new issue at last year’s book fair, the Black Flag editorial collective is slowly but surely re-organising itself. We have agreed on a UK subscription rate (£10 for 3 issues) and would like to hear from any comrades and groups who want copies on a “sale or return” basis.

We are, as always, looking for comrades to contribute material or join the collective. The next issue is planned for May Day so we need articles by the end of March (at the very latest) and the subsequent issue will be available for the 2008 book fair (so copy is needed by the end of August at the latest). We hope to become quarterly again soon, although that depends on how many people contribute and how much money we have. We also have printing bills to pay so we are always looking for donations.

If you are interested in subscribing, writing, getting involved or giving us your money, our contact details are:

So it is more than £3.33 an issue now?

Does it come with a cigar?

Hello all

Just a new note to say the new issue of Black Flag is now available. If you want copies to sell in bulk, please contact us. And, of course, if you want to write or otherwise help out. So this also following applies:

Next issue will be available for the 2008 book fair (so copy is needed by the end of August at the latest). So far, this looks like we will be bi-annual this year -- which is a step in the right direction!

I would just to like reiterate the call for contributions for the next issue. The deadline is in mid-August, but please contact us to you are planning to contribute material.

We are specifically looking for someone to write about the health sector, discussing anarchist ideas on the state of the NHS and the demands in America for a state run system instead of their quasi-privatised system. Specifically, what do anarchists do in the short run with regards to New Labour plans on the NHS (which seem to be privatisation by stealth) and the obvious limitations in the American system (as prompted, in part, by "Sicko"). Something beyond "We need a revolution", in other words.

Also, we need articles which analysis current struggles and events. As a bi-annual magazine, we need more than just reporting.

Obviously, we are looking for work in the class struggle anarchist tradition but we will consider libertarian Marxist material as well. As long as it is interesting and makes valid points, it will be given a hearing.
