Hi,
i've recently published a history of anarchism (and non-Leninist revolutionary Marxism) in New Zealand in the 1960s and 1970s. It was a fun non-academic book to write, and contains wit, humour, drug taking, sex, mad irishmen and other sparkly bits, not to mention the incisive class analysis. For those of you don't like reading, it has lots of pictures. Surprisingly enough, it is written from anarchist communist viewpoint that is occasionally spiced up by council communism and, heaven forbid, left communism.
You can read the book blurb, download the intro, and read some reviews here
But it looks like AK Press (US division) are not gonna distribute my book to the numberless hordes of customers outside of New Zealand who eagerly await to get hold of this fantastic, groundbreaking book. (ie. all twenty of you)
Seriously tho, not much serious work has been done on the anarchist movement in Europeanised societies in the 1960s. It gave me the opportunity to rubbish the liberal thesis of George Woodcock that anarchism during the sixties was a liberal, middle class movement -- t'was not true for Australasia anyway.
So i need to find distributors for
1) North America
2) UK/Ireland
Any pointers? Who would be worthwhile to contact from people's experiences? Maybe See Sharp Press? Kersplebedep? Are AK Press in the UK different from AK Press in the US? Are they more friendly and responsive to requests?
Any help would be sweet/neet/cool/much appreciated
thanks in advance
(btw. not sure what forum to place this under, not really an announcement is it?)
