How do I sue the fucking pigs?

for a personal injury?

I have damaged nerves in a wrist from a hand-cuff, which I guess they'll say happened because I resisted arrest.

does this matter? and does it matter if i get convicted for what it was they were nicking me for?

who would i go to ?

- the police complaints authority seem rubbish - just an arm of the police.

and victim support will think it a bit odd - you have to report it to the police before you can go to them.

I'd imagine you need some sort of doctors report from as soon as after the injury occured as possible.

i intend to. i waited to see if it would go away cos its just nerve damage to the skin. i dont see how a doctor could 'prove' it anyway, maybe a specialist could, which it will take ages to see no doubt.

you'd be surprised- the NHS varies a huge amount. i've been having tests for epilepsy, and it took me about 8 weeks to see the consultant, but then only about four days until they had booked me in for the tests the following monday. and now i'm having to wait any time between 1 and 6 weeks to see the consultant again.

i wouldn't give up on it straight away

Doesn't matter whether you're convicted.

The issue is whether the force used was appropriate, if they argue that you were violent it helps if you haven't been convicted for assault and being acquitted will look better. If the cuffs were put on too tightly (harder to prove than damage) then you can argue that this was done punitively and you will almost certainly win.

Go to the Citizen's Advice Bureau and get some proof of your injuries, photos, preferably signed by a doctor. Get a medical opinion.

You can report the policeman to the police.
