can woter be cut off in northern ireland if water rates are not paid? it can't be cut off here regardless of whether you pay or not (shit for yr credit rating though)

Quite right, but they can still send the bailiffs round to cease your stuff for unpaid bills. Although, as you say, water boards are careful to be seen to be “sympathetic” to low income debtors and almost always reschedule debts by arrangement in my experience.

I always think bailiffs get off light, couldn’t we just send the ALF around to “release them into the wild”. Make themselves useful for once.
