First of all, you'll need a desktop publisher to design leaflets. This thread might be of some help.
You'll need to make it look at least semi-professional. Mostly, you can do this just by using common sense. It's fairly easy to put something together that doesn't look completely horrible. Look at leaflets that other people have produced for basic guidelines. Doing a bit of reading on design can't hurt either.
If you don't feel like putting together a leaflet yourself, there are already some excellent counter-recruitment material out there. I seem to remember that Walthamstow Anarchist Group produced a really good leaflet on the subject, but I just tried searching it and the only links I could find were long dead. I did find this leaflet, which might be of some interest to you.
There are certain advantages of making your own, though. You can make it relevant to your local area, make sure it's up to date and so on.
Searching this site is a good idea, too, as there have been topics on this sort of thing before.

Well first big post, so I figured it’d be sort of an introduction as well. I wouldn’t say I’m very politically savvy, I’m the traditional youngish semi-unenlightened idiot who’s not satisfied with the current goings on so to speak and with about as many ideas of how to “fix” this as the next smuck heh. I’ve been getting into more reading and researching, educating myself on current political workings and alternative systems, so advice on reading or directions is always appreciated anytime as well as organisations that may interesting to talk to local or otherwise. I have attempted to contact some local groups via email but no luck as of yet with talk back.
I was generally looking to become more involved and more educated at the least, accidentally stumbled on your site while looking up some things browsed the forums everyone seems relatively sensible thought I’d stick around and get some reading done.
Either way introduction over and done with as much as they ever can be, anyway start of the story is dandering down round town happen to notice two soldiers at a recruiting or advertising booth, not an amazingly common sight. So I decided to talk to them. I spent a few minutes talking to them, both were fairly pleasant and polite while I asked them a few questions ranging from small talk, questions about the Iraqi war etc. They didn’t say anything new and they didn’t seem surprised by many of my questions. To keep it short I told them that I wasn’t in favour of the war and that them recruiting on the street made me fairly uncomfortable they said they sympathised but it’s a job, there were good things that came out of the war, they weren’t recruiting/advertising in or outside schools etc etc. I left happy with the civility shown but disappointed that I was fairly ineffectual. Thinking about it later I realised I would have been the perfect opportunity to hand out leaflets or flyers, even if I did it on my own it would have at least presented a different view point to passers-by.
I thought it would be a good idea to create some leaflets, again me=inexperienced so any advice on how to make them is welcome but I’ve got a few ideas anyway, and if not able to hand them out in such a perfect situation as that I’d always be able to carry a fair number on me for when the occasion comes again. So far that’s all I’ve come up with that doesn’t require mass use of crazy props heh.
Anyway, introduction-Hi!, advice, thoughts halp?
