pages.google.com might be an easy place to start.
Need advice on making and hosting a webpage
Hi Jason, I see you're from Australia too. A number of hosting organisations in Australia exist for activists (not limited to Australia, but also Aotearoa, Oceania in general, even Poland) such as axxs.org. There's a number of geeks who make up the collective of axxs, myself included, who might be able to assist you with web development and whatnot.
Otherwise a number of free hosting companies exist, most often in the form of 'free blogs' such as wordpress.com. Despite being blog-targeted, these things can be useful for getting a quick, non-geek friendly site up and running.
PM me if you want more details about what axxs does and what it might be able to help you with.
One other thing - I started a site AptGetAnarchy.org that provides techy sort of information and tutorials for anarchists/activists. We don't have much stuff there at the moment in regards to building websites (it's mostly Linux-oriented) but that's a perfect place to put information to help you guys, and it's also the perfect place to ask for help. It's got quite a few active users who are techsavvy. So feel free to participate and call out for help!
I've been playing round with the googlepage option and its real user friendly and easy to create a page. Thanks.
But what if you want to upload, say, essays? Is there the option for internal links to 'sub-pages' so that you can have the introduction homepage and than links to monthly commentaries for example?

Hi,
Me and my mate have the idea in our heads of hosting a webpage to facilitate our organisational aspirations. We are very far from being computer whizzes and never really do more than send e-mails, etc.
How do we get started? Are there resources describing this kind of stuff?
Thanks,
Jas
