It's OK to fund ourselves by doing bank jobs, right? Would it be alright to profit directly by something like currency speculation?

What exactly are you planning to fund?
Yes but we don't have the people at the moment to justify having militants like that. When we do I'll be all in favour of allocating them roles and remunerating them so they can carry out their activities. At the moment tho we don't have the physical or intellectual capacity in this country to make those kind of maneoveres.

Currency speculation is legal. Given that we agree it's acceptable as a method of raising funds, do we have the expertise to render ourselves financially independent by this ostensibly highly profitable activity?

The problem would be with the liklihood of selling out: If loads of people rely on a single person/small group to get the funds, that puts both disproportionate power in the hands of the funders and also creates a structural pressure towards them keeping the cash and becoming full-time currency speculating capitalists.
Money raised for strike funds through more 'social' routes- donations from thousands of people, tithes from union contributions- helps build a collective feeling of solidarity..?
